Job Title: Manufacturing Associate Job Description
The Manufacturing Associate produces dehydrated and liquid culture media in a controlled laboratory manufacturing environment, following standard operating procedures and work instructions. This role uses specialized equipment to mill, blend, dispense, and sterilize media, while maintaining accurate production documentation and supporting consistent product quality.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture dehydrated culture media using power mills and powder blenders in accordance with all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Prepare liquid culture media by following established formulations, procedures, and quality standards.
- Dispense liquid media using appropriate equipment to ensure accurate volumes and proper handling.
- Sterilize liquid media using autoclaves and other relevant equipment, adhering strictly to SOPs and safety guidelines.
- Accurately document each step of the production process on production worksheets and in computer-based systems as required.
- Handle and move both liquid and powder-based raw materials safely and efficiently throughout the manufacturing process.
- Monitor equipment during operation and report any issues or deviations from standard procedures.
- Follow all quality, safety, and cleanliness requirements in the manufacturing area.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and maintain consistent output.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by following updated procedures and providing feedback on processes as needed.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, or a closely related field, or equivalent GMP/manufacturing experience.
- Foundational knowledge of biology or related scientific principles relevant to culture media and raw materials.
- Experience or comfort working with standard operating procedures (SOPs) in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
- Ability to operate and learn equipment such as power mills, powder blenders, and autoclaves.
- Strong computer and documentation skills, including accurate data entry on production worksheets.
- Ability to lift and move materials as necessary to support production activities.
- Comfort and ability to work with and around both liquid and powder-based materials.
- Attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures and quality standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in GMP or regulated manufacturing environments is strongly valued.
- Prior exposure to culture media production, autoclave use, or laboratory manufacturing processes is beneficial.
- Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and adapt to updated SOPs.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks within a production schedule.
- Willingness to learn new equipment and processes in a growing, modern facility.
Work Environment
This role is based in a modern, newly built manufacturing and laboratory facility that focuses on producing dehydrated and liquid culture media. The position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Work involves regular use of equipment such as power mills, powder blenders, and autoclaves, as well as handling both liquid and powder-based raw materials. Team members work in a structured environment guided by SOPs and work instructions, with a strong emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and accurate documentation. The setting offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and early-career professionals to gain hands-on manufacturing experience in a growing organization.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Horsham, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
