Master Scheduler/SIOP Lead – PGM Operations

Job Description BAE Systems is hiring a Master Scheduler/SIOP Lead to manage the integrated production planning, scheduling, and demand/capacity planning activities for Precision Guided Munition (PGM) manufacturing and assembly operations at our Maple Grove, Minnesota facility. This position will serve as the primary focal point for the development and execution of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process to align with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for assigned manufacturing programs.
The Master Scheduler / SIOP Lead will work cross-functionally with Operations, Program Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Engineering to ensure production requirements are aligned with available capacity, materials, equipment, personnel, and test capability. The position will provide demand planning leadership with clear visibility to schedule performance, capacity constraints, material risks, and future production requirements.
The successful candidate will establish and maintain disciplined planning processes and visual metrics that enable the organization to manage material flow and production capacity meet customer commitments while supporting production ramp-up, continuous improvement, in a new product introduction environment for future PGM manufacturing growth.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for PGM manufacturing and assembly operations
- Align Master Production Schedule (MPS) with Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in coordination with the cross functional program team
- Lead the division's SIOP process , including demand planning, supply planning, capacity planning, inventory planning, and gap resolution
- Collaborate with Program Management and Operations program Management to understand demand signal and delivery timing to translate customer demand, program requirements, contractual commitments, and production objectives into executable manufacturing plans
- Develop and maintain short, mid, and long-range production schedules while balancing labor, equipment, facilities, material, tooling, production capacity leveling, and test capacity
- Coordinate production schedules across subassembly, final assembly, inspection, automated testing, and shipment activities. Coordinate with Production Cell leaders to understand capacity vs order fulfillment needs
- Work cross-functionally to identify and resolve material, capacity, staffing, equipment, engineering, and process constraints that could impact production schedules
- Partner with Supply Chain to ensure material availability supports the Master Production Schedule and identify potential long-lead and constrained material risks. Communicate with Supply chain to ensure timely supplier deliveries to mitigate manufacturing flow inhibitors risk
- Review actual production performance against plan and develop recovery plans for schedule variances, production constraints, and customer-driven changes
- Establish and maintain production planning metrics including schedule attainment, schedule adherence, material readiness, capacity utilization, backlog, and demand versus capacity. Facilitate recurring SIOP meetings and communicate key decisions, risks, constraints, and actions to Operations and senior leadership
- Develop capacity models and provide recommendations regarding staffing, equipment, facilities, capital investment, outsourcing, and production strategies. Support production ramp planning and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by integrating future program requirements into the production plan
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to establish realistic manufacturing lead times, routings, work center capacities, and planning parameters
- Support development and implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Tier Management, Visual Metrics, and 5S within the planning and manufacturing organization
- Support ERP/MES process development and ensure accurate planning data is maintained within the organization's systems
- Provide analytical support to leadership regarding production performance, capacity, inventory, demand, and schedule risks. Advise leadership on capacity leveling to assure continuity in production builds.
- Develop presentations and communicate status, trends, and recommendations to senior management and program leadership
- Foster process and systems development focused on establishing a scalable, world-class production planning and scheduling organization

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline, with at least 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing Master Production Schedules in a complex manufacturing environment, including MRP, capacity planning, demand planning, SIOP, and production control processes
- Strong understanding of manufacturing core functions, including production control, material flow, manufacturing engineering, test engineering, and shop management. Experience coordinating multiple manufacturing operations and/or programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify constraints, evaluate alternatives, develop executable recovery plans, and manage production metrics and performance dashboards using ERP systems such as Oracle and/or Excel/data-analysis tools
- Demonstrated ability to communicate production schedules, capacity constraints, material risks, and program impacts effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all levels of the organization. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond to changing customer and program requirements
- Additional Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain required U.S. government security clearance, if applicable
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills ​​​​​
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related discipline
- Experience in government/defense contracting and complex electromechanical manufacturing and assembly, including PGM, missile, aerospace, weapons, or electronics programs
- Experience with Oracle ERP/MRP, Oracle Manufacturing/MES, and demand, supply, or advanced planning capabilities. Knowledge of SIOP/IBP preferred
- Experience developing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), long-range capacity models, production ramp plans, and supporting manufacturing from demand through test, acceptance, and shipment. EVM/CAM experience preferred
- Experience with NPI, development-to-production transitions, APQP, Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, and continuous improvement methodologies. Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $82779 - $140723

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
