Your role:

Rare tumors demand rare expertise. As a Senior Medical Science Expert for Rare Tumors in the Czech Republic, you will serve as the primary scientific partner for the oncology expert community, shaping and driving the local Medical Affairs strategy in one of the most complex and impactful therapeutic areas. This is a field-intensive, non-promotional role that operates independently from the commercial organization, giving you the autonomy to build deep, trust-based scientific relationships with key opinion leaders across oncology, pathology, radiology, and related specializations.

In this pivotal role, you will independently develop and implement the local Medical Affairs strategy in alignment with regional and global priorities. You will co-create therapeutic, launch, and brand strategies, lead the execution of medical tactics, and own the tracking of medical KPIs and therapeutic area budget planning. You will map the therapeutic landscape, identify unmet needs and emerging trends, and translate field insights into strategic recommendations that inform internal decision-making.

Fieldwork is at the heart of this position, representing 80% or more of your working time. You will visit academic and non-academic centers across the Czech Republic, engage in substantive scientific discussions, handle medical and scientific enquiries from healthcare professionals, and develop individual scientific collaboration plans with key physicians. You will present and discuss clinical data at congresses and scientific meetings, and complement in-person interactions with hybrid and digital engagement channels.

Beyond fieldwork, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in Medical, Market Access, HEOR, Regulatory, and Commercial functions, as well as with Patient Advocacy and Clinical Operations teams. You will support investigator-initiated studies, contribute to clinical site selection, manage the local publication process, and lead internal scientific education and training initiatives for colleagues and contracted speakers.

Who you are:

- You hold a university degree in a medical or life science field; an advanced degree such as MD, PharmD, PhD, or MSc is preferred.
- You bring a minimum of 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs or in a Medical Science Liaison or Medical Science Expert role within the pharmaceutical industry.
- You have deep knowledge of oncology, ideally with direct experience in rare tumors or rare diseases.
- You have a demonstrated track record of fieldwork and building trusted scientific relationships with key opinion leaders in the Czech Republic.
- You have experience in developing and implementing medical strategy, and you are comfortable managing your own agenda and delivering results with a high degree of independence.
- You possess excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex clinical data clearly to diverse audiences.
- You are experienced in cross-functional collaboration and have a good understanding of the regulatory, clinical, and market environment in the Czech Republic.
- You are fluent in both Czech and English, written and spoken, and you are willing to travel within the Czech Republic up to 80% or more of your working time, with occasional regional or European travel.
