IT Field Support Specialist, Level 2

What You Will Do:

At Independent Software, as an IT Field Support Specialist 2, you will provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, teleconferencing equipment, and network-connected hardware. You will troubleshoot and repair equipment, support hardware installations and upgrades, conduct site surveys, and provide on-site and remote support to end users.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and test computer hardware and associated equipment
- Conduct site surveys and document configurations, requirements, and changes
- Support hardware deployments, network upgrades, and equipment installations
- Install and configure hardware, cabling, and specialized interconnecting cables
- Maintain fiber optic modems, multiplexers, fiber/Ethernet cabling, and telephone systems
- Install Windows operating systems, applications, antivirus software, and security patches
- Use ticketing systems to document and track technical issues
- Provide remote and on-site end-user support and training
- Coordinate with IT teams, vendors, and users to resolve technical issues

Required Skills and Qualifications:
 
- 3–5 years of relevant IT experience
- Strong hardware installation, repair, and troubleshooting experience
- Experience supporting Windows operating systems and software applications
- Knowledge of Active Directory security and policies
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Experience providing remote technical support
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle as part of job responsibilities
- Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
- Must be available to work an 8-hour shift scheduled between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, as determined by management

Education and Experience:
 
- High School Diploma or GED required

Certifications: 
 
- Must possess required DoD 8570 certification
- Security+ highly preferred

Clearance Requirement:
 
- Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
