About this role
Description
Lead the fight against fraud and abuse across Amazon's Payments business in Latam. As Senior Program Manager for Payment Integrity, you'll own the strategy, roadmap, and team that protect millions of customers — and the business — from fraud, abuse, and bad debt across BR and LATAM.
You will act as the single-threaded owner for payment integrity in the region, leading a team of program and product managers and owning an ambitious Cost of Business Waste (CoBW) reduction target. You'll stay ahead of a fast-moving fraud and abuse landscape, translate it into a clear multi-year roadmap, extend proven prevention mechanisms to new financial products such as Amazon Credito, and partner deeply with engineering, risk, compliance, and finance teams. If you are energized by ambiguous, high-stakes problems where the mechanisms you build directly protect customers and the business, this role is for you.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead the Integrity / F&AP team: guide, coordinate and develop a team of program and product managers, set priorities, and own the operational drumbeat, incident response, and delivery bar for the pillar.
- Stay ahead of the fraud & abuse landscape — maintain deep, current knowledge of market solutions, industry mechanisms, and emerging fraud/abuse vectors (card fraud, concession/promo abuse, instrument and credential abuse), and bring that outside-in view into our roadmap.
- Define the strategy and roadmap — own the multi-year vision and prioritized roadmap for payment integrity across BR and LATAM, including fraud & abuse coverage for new products (e.g., Amazon Credito) and the extension of proven mechanisms across markets.
- Drive and track projects and metrics — oversee execution of in-flight initiatives (abuse-reduction programs, card-related and bad-debt initiatives), own the LATAM CoBW reduction target, and hold the team accountable to measurable input and output metrics.
- Report status to leadership — provide clear, data-driven updates on roadmap progress, CoBW performance, risks, and trade-offs to senior leadership through the established review cadence (MBR/QBR/OP).
- Partner cross-org — align and influence across engineering, RCS, BRP, BAP, Risk, Compliance, and Finance to unblock delivery and scale prevention mechanisms.
A day in the life
No two days look the same. You might start by reviewing the latest fraud metrics with your team, deciding where to double down and where to cut losses. Mid-morning, you pressure-test the design of a new abuse-prevention mechanism with engineering before it goes to build. In the afternoon, you align with Product and Risk on how a new product launch changes our fraud exposure and what coverage we need . You close by refining the roadmap and preparing a crisp update for leadership on progress against our CoBW target — moving fluidly between deep strategy and hands-on execution.
