EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or G.E.D required with year experience with money handling, banking or accounting background desired. Must be in possession of a valid State of Georgia Class 3 motor vehicle operator's license.
INTERVIEW SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic computer knowledge and the ability to operate P/C keyboard and word processing software such as Microsoft Office (Word).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conducts self in an appropriate manner as a representative of MARTA working effectively in a diverse working environment.
2. Works at all MARTA facilities, rail stations and garages, on the road to service, repair and maintain revenue vending and bus fare box equipment.
3. Secures and protects MARTA revenue, materials, and equipment in accordance to established policies and procedures.
4. Trouble-shoots, diagnose, and repairs malfunctions in fare boxes, coin and bill counters, coin wrappers, ticket vending, electronics and related machines and equipment.
5. Reads and documents technical messages pertaining to machines and equipment malfunctions, service required, and scheduled maintained.
6. Safely operates motor vehicles, mechanical motorized carts, tools and equipment.
7. Conforms to all safety regulations and practices.
8. Works flexible days, hours, and shifts.
9. Works on occasion under adverse conditions and outdoors in all weather conditions and in a garage environment.
10. Lifts objects over 60lbs. and handles fare boxes up to 60lbs. without accommodations.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Must successfully complete validated psychological written exam for cash handling, credit reference check and background investigation by G.C.I.C (Georgia Crime Information Center).
ATTENDANCE / OCCURENCES (Internal Applicants ONLY)
Internal candidates will have a record evaluation check to determine if they are eligible to continue in the interview process. Candidates will be automatically disqualified for interview consideration if their record evaluations for the rolling year backward at the time of review consist of:
- A combined total of three (3) occurrences and /or lose outs (tardies)
- Any instances of absence without leave (AWOL)
- Any disciplinary actions
- Any valid customer complaints
- Employee has not successfully completed probationary period as a new hire
