What you will have an opportunity to do:
The Steward is responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen facilities and dinnerware, working knowledge of kitchen equipment, and proper chemical usage.
All duties are performed in accordance with department policies, practices and procedures.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Receives soiled dinnerware, flatware, and glassware. Places items according to size and likeness on automatic dishwashing conveyor belt in appropriate racks
- Operates dishwashing machines
- Removes washed dinnerware, flatware and glassware from automatic dishwasher and stacks items according to size and likeness for future use
- Returns items not satisfactorily cleaned for a second wash
- Sweeps and mops kitchen floors, scrubs and cleans walls, working tables, equipment, trash cans, and floor mats
- Picks up trash from all kitchens, loading dock and trash compactor areas
- Maintains cleanliness of loading dock trash compactor areas
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisors
- Proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment)
- The ability to follow all department policies and procedure.
