Role Summary:

As an Intern at Summit, you will embark on a comprehensive rotational program designed to provide a deep understanding of various roles within our organization. This internship requires an unwavering commitment to customer service, an unstoppable drive to exceed expectations, and a relentless pursuit of excellence at every level during your experience. You will have numerous opportunities for growth and advancement, paving the way for a prosperous future. Continuing education is an integral part of your journey, supported by a personalized training plan tailored to your career aspirations and development needs.

Essential Job Functions:

- Work in the warehouse gaining hands-on experience in logistics, including delivery, shipping/receiving, and order pulling.

- Work with the counter and inside sales teams to deliver exceptional service, acquiring sales experience through face-to-face interaction with Summit customers.

- Become acquainted with multiple product lines targeting diverse market segments.

- Delve into an immersive introduction to Summit’s competitive advantages and market conditions.

- Put the skills and knowledge acquired along the way to the test by completing an optional hands-on

project in the areas of research, analysis, or operations. This is your chance to get creative and bring together what you’ve been doing all summer.

Internship Flexibility:

The internship path is designed to be flexible, catering to your interests and aspirations. We encourage you to share what you hope to gain from this experience and which areas of the industry you are most interested in exploring. If you are unsure, that’s perfectly fine; we will work closely with you throughout the summer, providing exposure to every aspect of the industry to help you discover your passion.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

We're more interested in who you are than your experience. An insatiable desire to learn and strong technical curiosity is required along with a work ethic that never quits until the job is done.  We want problem solvers who are always looking to find ways to provide value to our customers.

While a background in distribution, supply chain, or business is advantageous, we value individuals from all backgrounds who share a passion for customer service.

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

- Pursuing a degree in supply chain management

- Pursuing a degree in industrial distribution

- Pursuing a degree in business management or sales

Physical Challenges:

Walking, standing most of day while in warehouse and counter sales. Sitting for long periods of time while job shadowing and CSR experience.
