Responsibilities:

 JOB SUMMARY
The Coordinator - Ancillary Staffing provides centralized staffing coordination for ancillary float-pool resources supporting Medical Group, Perioperative Services, Laboratory Services, Diagnostic Imaging, Ambulatory Services, Environmental Services, and other approved operational areas. Serving as the central coordination point between float-pool staff and supported departments, the position independently evaluates staffing needs using designated staffing and scheduling systems, aligns available and qualified resources with service needs, communicates assignments and coverage information, and maintains accurate staffing records. The role supports efficient use of system staffing resources and timely coverage within established staffing processes and escalation protocols.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reviews staffing needs and available ancillary float-pool resources across supported departments and locations; coordinates assignments based on staffing requests, employee availability, qualifications, established coverage priorities, and approved staffing practices.

- Serves as the centralized point of contact for ancillary float-pool staffing activity. Communicates assignments, changes, call-outs, open needs, and coverage status to float-pool employees, department leaders, and other designated stakeholders within established timeframes.

- Uses designated staffing, scheduling, and workforce systems to maintain current staffing information, document assignments and schedule changes, and support accurate visibility of available resources and outstanding needs.

- Independently evaluates competing staffing requests and applies established processes and escalation protocols to support efficient deployment of ancillary float-pool resources across multiple service lines and locations.

- Receives and processes staffing-related calls and requests, including absences and changes in availability; updates appropriate systems and communicates information to affected departments and leaders.

- Validates that employees assigned to requested coverage meet applicable job, department, location, and scheduling requirements based on available system information and established processes.

- Partners with Network Operations leadership and supported operational areas to identify staffing gaps, recurring coverage issues, and opportunities to improve utilization and coordination of ancillary float-pool resources.

- Demonstrates flexibility and sound judgment as staffing needs change throughout the shift and across supported service lines. Escalates issues outside established parameters to appropriate leadership.

- Maintains confidentiality and handles employee and operational information in accordance with HonorHealth policies and applicable requirements.

EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED Required

EXPERIENCE
- 1 year, related staffing, scheduling, workforce coordination, healthcare operations, or comparable experience Required
- 3 years, related experience Preferred
