About this role

Purpose of Position:

Perform the daily functions and operations of the Group Processing Center.

Essential Functions:

- Reviews all group changes received checking for accuracy or any missing information.

- Process all group changes, line of coverage adds/terminations as received.

- Process all group terminations and produce termination confirmation letters.

- Send necessary email/faxes and make phone calls to internal/external customers as needed.

- Calling group contacts/brokers to follow-up on pending items for missing information and for billing reminders.

- Identify components of balances due and prepare letters for collection.

- Prepare check request for credits due.

- Process commission set-up and billing for New Business cases received.

- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly letters to groups and brokers.

- Log and delegate department mail, including e-mail.

- Perform accurate data entry.

- Update reports/logs with data regarding group processes.

- Regular on-site and/or remote attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.

- Performs other business tasks or functions as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required :

- Candidate must have proficient use of 10 key and accurate data entry skills.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft products, particularly Word and Excel.

- Excellent problem-solving skills.

- Strong written and oral communications skills.

- Must be self-guided, with the ability to follow directions, make decisions and work with little supervision.

- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.

- Ability to learn and operate proprietary-based systems, and to handle objections and explain company policy and procedure.

- Prior experience in Health Insurance industry and customer service preferred.

Educational Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements:

- This position is requires sitting 90% of the time. Must be able to walk, utilize stairs, bend, stoop and lift 25 lbs.

- Requires close vision and the ability to hear phone conversations and speak clearly to the caller. Utilize fingers, hands, and arms to feel and manipulate. Working environment is stable and noise level is moderate.

- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and occasional standing and walking. Must have adequate hearing for phone work.

- Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to communicate effectively in English.

- Must be able to use a keyboard and other office equipment. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
