Maintenance Mechanic – JLL

What this job involves: The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in supporting building operations by performing preventive maintenance, responding to service requests, and completing general repairs across facility systems and equipment. This position helps ensure safe, efficient, and reliable building performance while delivering best-in-class customer service to tenants and clients. Working independently and collaboratively with the operations team, the Maintenance Mechanic contributes directly to operational excellence, tenant satisfaction, and JLL’s commitment to maintaining high safety and service standards.

What your day-to-day will look like:

- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems and equipment.
- Utilize the CMMS work order system to manage and complete assigned maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
- Complete general building repairs including ceiling tiles, carpet tiles, floor tiles, minor plumbing, minor HVAC, and minor electrical work.
- Conduct facility rounds and proactively identify building conditions requiring attention or repair.
- Respond to tenant service requests and complete special projects such as painting, pressure washing, and general maintenance tasks.
- Escort vendors performing routine maintenance or repair work onsite and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment while following all safety procedures and completing required safety training.

Required Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience in general building maintenance, basic HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical systems.
- Valid Tennessee Driver’s License with the ability to maintain driving eligibility requirements.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond onsite for emergency service within 45 minutes.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment or materials weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, CMMS platforms, smartphones, and email systems.
- Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe maintenance practices.
- Experience supporting commercial, industrial, or government facilities environments.
- Ability to diagnose equipment issues and perform routine repair and maintenance tasks independently.
- Familiarity with vendor coordination and contractor escort responsibilities.
- Experience handling tenant-facing service requests in a professional environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet schedules and timelines effectively.
- Licenses or certifications related to building maintenance or skilled trades, as required by local jurisdiction.

Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee

Work Shift:

- 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch, or
- 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch.

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
