The role

We have a 6mth FTC Contract for a Senior Finance Manager, Funds to take full ownership of fund accounting, reporting, and tax compliance across their assigned funds, lead the finance workstream on transactions and restructures, and partner closely with the Financial Controller, Funds to deliver month-end, quarter-end, and year-end statutory financial statements and board papers.

Funds is a fast-paced environment, requiring the delivery of fund accounting services to a diverse investor base, each with their own reporting requirements, formats, and deadlines. This role calls for a seasoned professional who is comfortable owning high-stakes outcomes with a high degree of autonomy, serving as a steady and trusted point of escalation for internal and external stakeholders, and actively building the capability and confidence of those around them.

What you will be doing

Key Responsibilities:

- Partnering with Fund Managers as a commercial finance partner across distributions, fees, deals and new funds

- Owning the fund reporting timetable, balancing competing investor requirements and deadlines

- Leading the accounting treatment and financial close for transactions and restructures, including unit issuances and redemptions

- Owning the preparation and delivery of statutory financial statements and board papers across the fund portfolio

- Owning tax compliance across assigned funds, including quarterly taxable income statements, annual tax returns and monthly BAS workings

- Managing senior investor and auditor relationships and escalations on a no surprises basis

- Reviewing monthly financial reporting, including investor reporting, unit pricing, trial balance and consolidation entries

- Reviewing distribution and management fee calculations

- Designing and improving controls, lifting documentation standards and closing gaps

- Shaping how the team runs across systems, automation and resourcing, and driving continuous improvement

- Developing team members, building capability and supporting recruitment

What makes you sta nd out

You are a CA or CPA qualified finance professional with a strong technical foundation and a track record of delivering in complex, high-volume environments. You bring deep experience leading the accounting for transactions and restructures, and you are confident proposing and resolving accounting treatments with auditors and senior stakeholders. Experience in property and/or funds management will be highly regarded.

- 8+ years of experience in professional services and/or an accounting related role

- Demonstrated track record of leading the accounting for transactions and restructures, including proposing treatments and resolving them with auditors

- Strong working knowledge of accounting standards and their practical application, particularly IFRS

- Experience with SAP, Anaplan and/or HFM is highly desirable

- Experience in property and/or funds management is valued
