Position Summary
We are seeking an ambitious, strategic, and results-driven Director of Sales – Healthcare Services to lead new business acquisition and market expansion across healthcare environments. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities while cultivating long-term partnerships with hospital systems, ambulatory centers, outpatient facilities, and medical office buildings.
You will lead the full sales cycle—from prospecting, clinical environment site assessments, and solution development through contract negotiation and client onboarding—working closely alongside operations, estimating, infection control, and implementation teams to ensure exceptional service delivery, regulatory compliance, and seamless execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans and growth initiatives to consistently achieve and exceed annual revenue goals within the healthcare sector.
- Identify and pursue high-value new business opportunities across targeted hospital networks, outpatient surgical centers, long-term care facilities, and medical office portfolios.
- Analyze sales metrics, CRM data, and pipeline conversion rates to deliver accurate revenue forecasting.
- Represent the company at healthcare industry events, facility management conferences (e.g., WHEA, IFMA Healthcare, ASHE), trade associations, and networking opportunities.
Healthcare Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with healthcare C-suite leaders, VP/Directors of Support Services, System Facility Directors, Environmental Services (EVS) Leadership, and Procurement Officers.
- Lead consultative sales presentations, walk-through site assessments, and proposal development tailored to stringent clinical cleanliness standards, infection prevention goals, and patient satisfaction initiatives.
- Negotiate pricing, complex service agreements, scopes of work, and performance metrics to maximize profitability and long-term client retention.
Operational Collaboration & Healthcare Solution Development
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through contract execution and clinical onboarding.
- Coordinate directly with operations, estimating, and implementation teams to design customized facility service solutions that adhere to healthcare compliance standards (e.g., Joint Commission, HIPAA, OSHA, CDC guidelines).
- Partner with operations leadership post-sale to ensure aligned expectations, smooth handoffs, and consistent service delivery across clinical environments.
Pipeline & Sales Operations
- Build and maintain an active, structured sales pipeline using CRM platforms.
- Establish clear key performance indicators (KPIs), pipeline activity metrics, and performance benchmarks.
- Provide regular internal reporting and updates, adhering to established processes.
- Partner with marketing and operations to align healthcare-focused messaging, case studies, and sales enablement tools.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 7+ years of progressive B2B sales experience, with a proven track record of selling facility solutions or managed services into healthcare environments.
- Healthcare Industry Expertise (Strongly Preferred): Strong background in healthcare facilities management , clinical/hospital environmental services (EVS) , healthcare janitorial/sanitation , or specialized facility services tailored to acute and non-acute medical settings.
- Regulatory Awareness: Solid understanding of healthcare facility standards, including Joint Commission (TJC) compliance, infection control protocols, AHE standards, terminal cleaning requirements, and patient satisfaction scoring (HCAHPS impact).
- Track Record: Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, conduct site assessments, and consistently meet or exceed multi-million dollar annual revenue quotas.
- Relationship Building: Demonstrated success engaging and negotiating with healthcare C-suite executives, VP of Support Services, Facility Directors, and healthcare procurement teams.
- Technical & Solution Expertise: Experience collaborating with estimating and operations teams to build tailored service scopes and compliant pricing models.
- Systems Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of CRM platforms for pipeline management, activity tracking, and forecasting.
- Communication & Travel: Exceptional consultative presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; willing to travel to medical facilities, industry events, and client sites.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
