Principal Corporate Counsel

<b>Overview</b><br><p>Microsoft’s Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA) organization seeks an experienced, highly motivated attorney to join the employment legal team as Principal Corporate Counsel. </p><br><br><b>Responsibilities</b><br><div><div><p><span>Responsibilities include:</span><span> </span></p></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><span>Proactively driving strategy and execution as lead counsel responsible for responding to and resolving agency investigations and pre-litigation disputes, such as EEOC and similar state agency charges, agency compliance reviews, labor arbitrations, and private claims; </span><span> </span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><span>Engaging and directing outside counsel; </span><span> </span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><span>Providing innovative, practical legal advice regarding employment-related disputes to clients at all levels; </span><span> </span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><span>Building and maintaining professional, trusted, productive relationships throughout the company and with external parties; and</span><span> </span></p></li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><span>Partnering in the development and expansion of programmatic, cost-effective solutions for delivering legal services at scale.</span><span> </span></p></li></ul></div></div><br><br><b>Qualifications</b><br><p>Required/minimum qualifications</p><ul><li>Juris Doctor Degree or international equivalent degree AND 4+ years experience practicing employment and/or labor law in the U.S<ul><li>OR equivalent experience.</li></ul></li><li>Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction.</li></ul><p>Additional or preferred qualifications:   </p><ul><li>Experience handling agency charges and investigations and pre-litigation disputes in the U.S.; </li><li>Experience advising corporate clients regarding employment and/or labor law topics in the U.S.;</li><li>Experience litigating employment claims in court, agency hearings, and/or arbitrations in the U.S.; </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, manage competing priorities, and exercise good judgment in making swift decisions with imperfect information;</li><li>Experience contributing to the development of programs to deliver legal services at scale; and</li><li>Unyielding commitment to the highest professional ethics. </li></ul> <br><br><p>Legal Counsel IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $132,200 - $232,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,800 - $248,600 per year. </p><p></p> <p>Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
