ONSITE – Chesapeake, VA
Pay: $16/hour – Please note this pay rate may be below your state’s minimum wage. Please take this into consideration when applying.
Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST
Some overtime may be required based on business needs.
About the role
As a Benefits Call Center Representative, you will support employees by answering inbound calls and helping them understand their healthcare, retirement, and other benefit options. You will handle a steady call volume while navigating multiple systems and may also assist with back-office tasks such as claims processing and general administrative work.
This role requires strong communication and customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced call center environment.
Key duties
- Help participants understand benefit plan options and provisions
- Respond to participant inquiries by phone and web
- Complete customer-related transactions accurately and efficiently
- Document calls thoroughly in the case management system
- Complete callbacks promptly and escalate issues when necessary
- Provide guidance on required forms and next steps
- Meet established accuracy, timeliness, and performance expectations
- Follow call center policies, procedures, and performance standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Comply with all company policies and standards
Requirements
We’re looking for customer-focused team members with strong communication skills and the ability to provide professional, empathetic service. To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous call center experience handling high-volume calls
- Experience with healthcare or employer benefits highly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong keyboarding skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Basic computer knowledge, including command prompts, shortcuts, and troubleshooting
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask effectively while navigating multiple systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening and drug test, including education and employment verification
- Must be 18 years of age or older

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation and/or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $ 29,640- $ 37,050.
