🌟About the Role

As the MDT & Community Response Coordinator , you’ll serve as an important connection point between BraveBe and the professionals who respond to child abuse across our 17-county service area .

You’ll help coordinate multidisciplinary responses with law enforcement, Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (NDHHS), county attorneys, social service agencies, medical and mental health professionals, and other community partners.

This position combines case coordination, relationship building, meeting facilitation, community outreach, training coordination, and systems support . You’ll help ensure that professionals have the communication, structure, and resources they need to work together effectively on behalf of children and families.

🌟What You’ll Do

Coordinate Multidisciplinary Responses

- Review accepted reports of child abuse and neglect within BraveBe’s 17-county service area and coordinate appropriate MDT responses.

- Work closely with law enforcement and NDHHS to coordinate responses for cases identified for a child advocacy center response under Nebraska law.

- Connect assigned multidisciplinary team members with BraveBe and promote appropriate utilization of child advocacy center services.

- Work with county attorneys and partner agencies to facilitate multidisciplinary investigative and treatment team case reviews.

- Participate in case reviews involving active child abuse investigations, DHHS non-court-involved cases, and community referrals.

- Provide support and guidance to community members seeking assistance through BraveBe’s response phone system.

Facilitate Collaboration & Communication

- Prepare and distribute MDT meeting agendas and minutes.

- Summarize and communicate MDT decisions, action plans, and follow-up items.

- Facilitate MDT meetings in a solution-focused manner while supporting the team’s process without driving meeting outcomes.

- Promote effective communication, coordination, and accountability among partner agencies.

- Help MDTs address challenges and resolve conflicts as they arise.

- Provide regular opportunities for MDT members to share feedback and suggestions regarding BraveBe and MDT procedures and operations.

- Foster positive, professional relationships with law enforcement, NDHHS, prosecuting attorneys, social service agencies, medical and mental health professionals, and other community partners.

Support Strong Systems & Best Practices

- Maintain accurate case tracking systems and provide statistical information as requested.

- Maintain and update written interagency agreements that formalize cooperation and commitment to CAC/MDT policies and practices.

- Maintain and update written MDT protocols addressing the roles and responsibilities of participating disciplines and their interaction with BraveBe.

- Ensure agreements and protocols are reviewed and updated in accordance with National Children’s Alliance Standards for Accredited Members.

- Promote best practices related to child abuse investigation, prosecution, treatment, and services for children and their non-offending caregivers.

Strengthen Community Partnerships & Education

- Conduct community outreach within designated counties to increase awareness of and access to BraveBe services.

- Work closely with the Director of Training & Community Engagement to provide or coordinate relevant training and educational opportunities for MDT members and community partners.

- Support education related to child abuse awareness and prevention, as well as investigation, prosecution, and treatment.

- Help strengthen professional relationships and collaboration throughout BraveBe’s service area.

🌟What You Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, criminal justice, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.

- At least two years of professional experience working with children and families who have experienced or witnessed trauma.

- At least two years of professional experience working with the criminal justice or child welfare system as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

- Experience designing and facilitating professional training opportunities is preferred.

- Strong communication, organization, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with professionals representing multiple disciplines and agencies.

- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion while remaining focused on collaboration and team process.

- Full-time, exempt position (40 hours/week)

- Salary starting at $42,000 , depending on experience, education, and bilingual status

- Occasional evening/weekend hours required

- Single-day travel throughout Southeast Nebraska required

- Reports to Clinical Program Manager
