JOB PURPOSE:
The Specialist, Corporate Affairs supports the delivery of TA'ZIZ's corporate affairs agenda across the holding company, its 19 legal entities, five JV companies and future phase organizations. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Affairs within the Corporate Affairs function established under the CEO, the role maintains the register of corporate documentation and agreements, drafts briefing material for leadership, and coordinates the internal inputs that corporate submissions depend on.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Corporate Affairs:
- Create the corporate affairs strategy across TA'ZIZ HoldCo , the 19 legal entities and the five JV companies, from entity incorporation through to steady-state operations
- Monitor licence , renewal, NOC, permit and power of attorney (POA) cycle for all TA'ZIZ entities, maintaining a live register of expiry dates and named owners
- Coordinate internal inputs and external submissions required to secure stakeholder approvals, ensuring each submission is complete, compliant and tracked to closure
- Prepare quality- assure material for the CEO, the Board and its committees, including briefing notes, position papers and pre-read packs
- Manage the function's input to internal tender boards, delegations of authority, business plans and performance reviews as they touch corporate matters
- Maintain the corporate affairs calendar of statutory, shareholder and government commitments and drive owners to deliver against it
- Oversee the accuracy and consistency of information and messaging issued across internal and external stakeholders in alignment with Communications function
- Monitor regulatory and policy developments affecting the chemicals sector and the TA'ZIZ Industrial Park and advise on the implications for TA'ZIZ
Stakeholder and Governance Support:
- Support maintenance of the stakeholders register , MOU records and points of contact held by the function
- Assist in the preparation of Board, committee and shareholder material owned by Corporate Affairs
Planning and Analysis:
- Prepare the function's periodic progress reporting, including the status of approvals, permits, POAs and engagements
- Provide data and analysis to support corporate affairs recommendations and decision-making
Risk Mitigation:
- Escalate approval, permit and regulatory risks early, with the facts needed for a decision
- Ensure all activities are carried out in alignment with regulatory requirements, the applicable delegations of authority and TA'ZIZ's risk management framework
Budgets
- Provide input for preparation of the function's budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver function objectives
- Assist in investigating and highlighting any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Implement approved function policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the function's work programs in line with Company and International standards
Performance Management
- Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the function in line with the Company Performance framework
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Assist in designing and implementing new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes
- Assist in identifying improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to gather, synthesise and report on corporate affairs information to support critical decision-making
- Working knowledge of UAE corporate, commercial and industrial licensing requirements and the authorities that administer them
- Experience supporting the implementation and tracking of a stakeholder and corporate affairs plan
- Ability to prepare accurate briefing notes, submissions and meeting material to an executive standard
- Proficiency in identifying and analysing key stakeholders, their needs, interests and levels of influence, and mapping them to effective engagement
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration , Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Law or a related field ( Master's preferred)
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- 5 - 8 years of experience in corporate affairs, government relations, corporate services or a related role
- Working knowledge of UAE and Abu Dhabi company licensing, permits, NOCs and power of attorney processes
- Experience preparing material for senior executives and engaging with government bodies and regulatory authorities
- Strong drafting, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with attention to detail on records, deadlines and compliance obligations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple parallel submissions
- Proficiency in English and Arabic drafting and correspondence
