This job opening is for a Senior Leader, Solution Architecture role focused on building solutions for customers around AWS platform services and industry solutions. It sits within the Public Sector team of Amazon Web Services India Private Limited.
We work with central government ministries, state and local governments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), education institutions, EdTech startups (including India-based unicorns), non-profits, and healthcare organizations. Our vision is to be part of India's growth journey helping institutions make a significant impact on the lives of citizens by taking a technology-generation leap through AWS cloud services.
In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible in your own right. You will partner with business leaders to lead thought-leadership conversations with customers on AWS services and platforms. You will interact, communicate, and partner across AWS including service teams, marketing, and business development and represent AWS to executive management.

Key job responsibilities
• Work with business leaders and fellow Solutions Architects to convey cloud computing best practices and build reference architectures across compute, storage, enterprise applications, developer technologies, and industry solutions.
• Develop strategy with Specialist Solutions Architects to enable the wider AWS business to succeed.
• Partner with Professional Services, service teams, and AWS Support to drive customer success.
• Plan, review, and author technical content (such as white papers and reference architectures) that customers can use to deploy secure, cloud-based solutions.
• Facilitate knowledge assessment across AWS business development and Solutions Architecture teams, and develop plans to address gaps.
• Work with industry groups to influence trends in cloud computing.
• Represent AWS at conferences, events, and meetups.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
- 10+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent
- Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent
- Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent
- Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
- Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
