# A Day in the Life

As an Associate Financial Analyst, you will support the development of insights that improve performance, strengthen forecasting, and simplify decision-making through Power BI dashboards, AI-enabled analysis, and core FP&A work. This role is based in Heerlen and follows a hybrid working model. You will partner with finance and cross-functional teams to support business planning, reporting, and analysis. Depending on the needs of the business, occasional collaboration with regional or global stakeholders may be required. The role is well suited to someone who enjoys working with data, building clear and actionable reporting, and helping teams translate information into insight.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards that provide timely, clear, and actionable financial and operational insights
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Analyze financial results, trends, and key business drivers to identify risks, opportunities, and performance improvement areas
- Use AI-enabled tools and advanced analytics techniques to enhance reporting, automate manual tasks, and improve insight generation
- Prepare recurring management reports and ad hoc analyses for finance leaders and business partners
- Partner with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into effective dashboard and reporting solutions
- Support data quality, reporting accuracy, and process improvement initiatives across finance workflows.

Required knowledge and experience:

- (Working towards a) Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field
- 1 to 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, analytics, reporting, or FP&A
- Strong skills in Power BI and Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of FP&A processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate insights clearly to different audiences
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and comfort working in a fast-paced matrixed environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with AI tools, SQL, financial modelling, or enterprise planning systems
- Experience in a healthcare, medical device, or similarly regulated environment.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
