Job Description

Synopsis

Aircraft Technician performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Etihad aircraft to restore serviceability, confirm conformity to approved maintenance data, and protect safe, on-time operations. The role applies hands-on technical skill across inspections, defect rectification, testing, and maintenance records while working within authorization limits and escalating non-routine issues to ensure traceability, quality, and compliance.

Accountabilities

•    Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Etihad aircraft in line with approved maintenance data, task cards, and work instructions, using the correct tooling and test equipment to restore serviceability and keep aircraft available for release
•    Inspects and rectifies mechanical, electrical, avionics, and structural defects within authorization limits, verifies effectivity before return to service, and escalates non-routine findings or repeat defects with clear technical detail
•    Completes aircraft maintenance records, logbook entries, defect reports, and handover information accurately and on time so work remains traceable, status is visible, and the next shift can continue without delay
•    Applies safety, quality, and human factors requirements throughout the work area, maintains FOD control, checks tooling and equipment before and after use, and keeps materials and components in serviceable condition or clearly identified if defective
•    Conducts functional checks, operational tests, and post-maintenance inspections to confirm repaired systems meet operational requirements, identifies follow-up work before aircraft release, and protects safe and on-time operations
•    Shares practical knowledge with junior technicians and coordinates with engineers, planning, stores, technical records, and quality teams to resolve defects, improve turnaround flow, and maintain consistent maintenance standards

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Education:
•    Technical diploma or vocational qualification in aircraft maintenance, mechanical, electrical, avionics, or related discipline
Experience:
•    4 to 7 years of aircraft maintenance experience in line or base maintenance within an airline or MRO environment
•    Hands-on experience with aircraft systems troubleshooting, defect rectification, maintenance documentation, and functional testing
Language Requirements:
•    Fluent in English, written and spoken
•    Arabic is an advantage
