Responsibilities

As a Generalist, Product-minded Software Engineer you will:

- Own product development end-to-end—from understanding the problem and shaping the solution to building, launching, and iterating.
- Understand and analyze user and stakeholder feedback, translating it into practical product improvements.
- Turn ambiguous ideas into clear priorities, focused scopes, and working prototypes.
- Shape exceptional UI and user experiences across the product, with attention to clarity, consistency, and craft.
- Build across the stack, taking on frontend, backend, integrations, and infrastructure as needed.
- Make thoughtful trade-offs between speed, quality, and scope to deliver value quickly.
- Collaborate closely with design, product, and business teams, contributing to both what we build and how we build it.
- Ship reliable, intuitive experiences and own testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
- Measure how products perform, learn from real usage, and take responsibility for outcomes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should:

- Be a builder. Turn ideas into working software—and have projects to show for it.
- Have a feel for great software and excellent UI/UX. Notice the details that make products intuitive and enjoyable to use.
- Think in terms of products. Understand the user’s problem, question assumptions, and help decide what’s worth building.
- Be an exceptional engineer for your experience level.

Bonus points for:

- Experience across multiple technologies and programming paradigms.
- Familiarity with asynchronous programming.
- Open-source contributions you can point us to.
