The Salesforce Architect owns the end-to-end solution architecture for the enterprise Salesforce ecosystem. The role connects commercial and customer experience priorities to a coherent platform roadmap, solution designs and integration patterns, ensuring capabilities are reliable, supportable and aligned with enterprise architecture.

Based in Madrid, you will work closely with product owners, business leaders, Salesforce engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Data, Integration, Quality Assurance and delivery partners. You will provide technical direction from discovery through deployment and operations, making complex design decisions clear and actionable.

Salesforce supports critical commercial and customer processes across the organization. This role creates the architectural consistency needed to scale those capabilities globally while allowing appropriate market variation. It balances speed and business value with platform standards, security, data integrity, operability and long-term maintainability.

Success is measured by resilient and secure solutions, predictable delivery, strong adoption, reusable capabilities, high release quality and controlled technical debt and cost - not by the amount of customization or technology deployed.

Role Responsibilities

Mission of Role

The Salesforce Architect defines and governs the architecture of the Salesforce ecosystem, translating business outcomes into scalable platform, application, integration, data and security designs. The role guides delivery teams, protects platform integrity and ensures solutions remain supportable and valuable throughout their lifecycle.

Architecture strategy and roadmap

- Define and maintain the Salesforce target architecture and multi-year roadmap, aligned to business priorities, product roadmaps, enterprise architecture and the wider Digital & Technology strategy.

- Set architecture principles, reference patterns and guardrails across Consumer Goods Cloud, Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud and shared platform services; document significant decisions and trade-offs.

- Translate the demand portfolio into an architecture runway, sequencing platform capabilities, integration dependencies, technical enablers and debt reduction alongside product delivery.

- Evaluate configure, buy, build and integrate options, balancing business value, user experience, scalability, security, delivery speed, supportability, platform limits and total cost.

- Define non-functional requirements and provide early technical estimates, feasibility assessments and risk advice to support prioritization, business cases and delivery commitments.

- Assess Salesforce releases and emerging capabilities, recommending controlled adoption where they simplify the landscape, improve experience or create measurable value.

Solution design and delivery

- Own end-to-end solution architecture from discovery and option assessment through detailed design, build assurance, testing, deployment, transition to support and lifecycle evolution.

- Lead architecture and design workshops, translating processes, personas, user journeys and functional requirements into clear designs, interfaces, acceptance criteria and delivery guidance.

- Review configuration and engineering designs, including data models, Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components, APIs and automation, ensuring appropriate use of standard Salesforce capabilities.

- Promote reusable components and common patterns across markets and products, challenging unnecessary customization and local variation that increase complexity or cost.

- Guide test strategy, performance validation, data migration, cutover and go-live readiness for major releases, ensuring architecture risks and remediation actions are visible and owned.

Integration, data and platform engineering

- Define integration architecture between Salesforce, enterprise applications, data platforms, mobile solutions and partner experiences using APIs, events and approved integration services.

- Design scalable Salesforce data models and flows, clarifying system-of-record ownership, master and reference data, data quality controls, retention, migration and synchronization requirements.

- Define identity, access and sharing architecture, including single sign-on, roles, profiles, permission sets and least-privilege access for employees, partners and external users.

- Shape environment, source-control and release strategies; promote automated testing, CI/CD and DevSecOps practices that improve quality, traceability and deployment frequency.

- Ensure production observability and resilience through monitoring, platform-health metrics, capacity and limit management, incident analysis, performance optimization and effective runbooks.

Governance, security and platform lifecycle

- Operate practical architecture governance through design reviews, standards, decision records and exception management, enabling delivery teams to move quickly within clear boundaries.

- Partner with Security, Privacy, Legal and Risk to embed secure configuration, encryption, auditability, consent, retention and compliant data processing into every solution.

- Maintain visibility of technical debt, customizations, obsolete capabilities and platform risks; define remediation priorities and prevent avoidable complexity from accumulating.

- Evaluate AppExchange products, integration technologies and partner solutions for architectural fit, security, commercial value, vendor viability, support model and roadmap alignment.

- Maintain current reference architecture, solution diagrams, interface specifications, data flows, decision records and operational documentation so teams can build and support consistently.

Leadership and collaboration

- Provide technical leadership and coaching to Salesforce developers, administrators, analysts and partners, raising architecture, engineering and documentation standards across the community.

- Act as the principal architecture interface for Harish, product and business leaders, communicating options, dependencies, risks and recommendations in clear business language.

- Align Salesforce decisions with Enterprise Architecture, Data, Integration, Security, Digital Products and Technology Operations, resolving cross-platform dependencies and design conflicts.

- Lead architecture assurance with strategic delivery partners and Salesforce, holding them accountable for solution quality, standards compliance, knowledge transfer and sustainable support.

Qualifications

- Significant experience as a Salesforce Solution Architect, Technical Architect or senior platform architect delivering complex, enterprise-scale solutions in a global organization.

- Deep knowledge of the Salesforce platform, particularly Consumer Goods Cloud, Sales Cloud and Experience Cloud; relevant Salesforce architecture certifications are strongly valued.

- Strong technical understanding of Salesforce configuration and development, including data modeling, Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components, security controls, sharing and platform limits.

- Proven experience designing enterprise integrations using REST and SOAP APIs, event-driven patterns and integration platforms such as MuleSoft or equivalent technologies.

- Experience with identity and access management, data migration, environment strategy, source control, automated testing, CI/CD, observability and production support.

- Demonstrated ability to translate business processes and user needs into simple, scalable architectures and to govern technical debt pragmatically.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills across executive, business and technical audiences, with experience leading vendors and cross-functional Agile teams.

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; fluent English, written and spoken.
