Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completes and documents initial and ongoing patient assessments based on population served
- Pre/Post Op nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgery
- Establishes specific, realistic and measurable goals.
- Develops an individualized plan of care/education for each patient/family upon admission.
- Initiates and participates in transitions of care in collaboration with hospital and community resources.
- Collaborates with inter-professional team and updates plan appropriately.
- Implements nursing actions in a safe, timely manner.
- Utilizes appropriate technology to provide safe care.
- Exercises clinical reasoning in care delivery.
- Implements physician orders in a timely manner.
- Manages emergency situations appropriately.
- Implements patient and family education plan.
- Practices safe medication handling and administration.
- Collaborates with the inter-professional team.
- Prep patients for procedure
- Set up room for sterile procedures
- Monitor patients during procedure
- Assist Surgeon during sterile procedure
Minimum Education & Experience:
- Associate's degree - ASN required
- RN surgical experience preferred
- RN License required
- BLS required
- If no surgical experience, RN will need to take peri-op 101 course within 8 weeks (60 days) post hire. Required.
