The Digital Marketing Director leads the strategy, execution and enterprise value of Great American’s digital marketing function. This senior leader oversees a team spanning web development, marketing automation, analytics and digital campaign execution, driving digital transformation, platform governance and measurable business outcomes across a multi-business-unit enterprise.

As a member of the Corporate Marketing & Branding Leadership Team, the Director partners with leaders across Corporate Marketing & Branding, Shared Services and the 35+ business units the department supports. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on leader who can operate at the senior leadership level while remaining grounded in modern digital marketing platforms, technology and performance disciplines.

To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on-site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in‑office days are Tuesday–Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

·   Set and execute the Digital Marketing vision and roadmap in partnership with the Divisional Vice President, translating business unit goals into strategies that support premium growth, lead generation, agent engagement and brand awareness.

·   Serve on the Corporate Marketing & Branding Leadership Team, contributing to corporate marketing strategy, budget planning and departmental direction while building the business case for continued investment in digital capabilities.

·   Represent Corporate Marketing & Branding in enterprise digital forums and partnerships with IT, Business Data & Analytics, Legal, Compliance, Salesforce CRM teams and external vendors.

Web & Digital Experience

·   Lead the strategy, governance and performance of GAIG.com and supported subsidiary websites, including content standards, content strategy frameworks and user experience principles.

·   Own SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategy and implementation to strengthen content discoverability across traditional and AI-driven search platforms.

Marketing Analytics & Performance

·   Develop and operationalize enterprise marketing measurement, including attribution, KPIs, dashboards and executive reporting, to optimize channel performance and meet strategic objectives.

·   Translate performance data into actionable insights for Corporate Marketing & Branding and business unit leaders and build data-informed decision-making capabilities across Marketing Services, Creative Services and Corporate Communications.

·   Oversee the Tableau reporting environment and integration of enterprise analytics tools to support reliable and actionable performance reporting.

Team Leadership & Development

·   Lead, develop and retain a team of digital marketing and marketing technology professionals, setting clear expectations, development plans and accountability.

·   Coach team members on strategic growth and career pathing while building succession depth and reducing single points of failure on critical platforms.

·   Foster collaboration, curiosity and continuous learning within Digital Marketing and across Corporate Marketing & Branding.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Business Unit Support

·     Partner with the Marketing Services Director to align the digital marketing roadmap, investments and service priorities with business unit and user needs, and measurable enterprise outcomes.

·     Collaborate with the Creative Services Director on integrated digital design, brand consistency and the effective implementation and performance of creative work across digital channels.

·     Partner with the Corporate Communications Director on social media strategy, owning paid social, analytics and platform tools while supporting organic content and voice strategy.

·     Serve as a strategic advisor, translating enterprise digital capabilities into opportunities and recommending paid, earned and third-party content distribution strategies, advertising platforms, publications and media channels that support business growth and marketing objectives.

Job Requirements

Experience

·   15+ years of progressive experience in digital marketing, marketing technology or marketing operations, including 8+ years leading digital marketing, web or analytics teams.

·   Enterprise experience in a decentralized, multi-business-unit organization; insurance, financial services, banking or another regulated industry is preferred.

·   Experience with enterprise martech platforms, including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sitefinity or a comparable CMS, Google Analytics 4, BrightEdge or a comparable SEO platform, Google Tag Manager, and Tableau or a comparable data visualization platform.

·   Demonstrated ability to translate digital performance data into executive-level insights and business decisions and to partner effectively with executives, business unit leaders, and enterprise IT and security teams.

·     Experience evaluating and applying AI-driven marketing tools and capabilities, with working knowledge of emerging AI trends and their implications for digital marketing, including Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business, Business Administration or a related field. MBA preferred.
