About the Role
As a Data Analytics Engineer in Swiss Re’s Specialty Analytics team, you will build data and analytics solutions for the Property & Casualty (P&C) domain, using modern technologies to turn complex data into reliable, reusable, and actionable insights. The role is strongly hands-on and combines software engineering, data engineering, and analytics delivery, with ownership focused on clean implementation, robust pipelines, maintainable applications, and continuous improvement of data products.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build end ‑ to ‑ end analytics solutions in Palantir Foundry
- Scalable PySpark data pipelines
- User ‑ facing web apps using Workshop and TypeScript
- Translate business needs into technical designs, data models, and implementable user stories
- Improve architecture, performance, data quality, testing, automation, and developer experience
- Own implementation quality through clean code, code reviews, documentation, and production support
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, analysts, and fellow developers in a global, cross ‑ functional environment
About the Team
The Specialty Analytics team delivers analytics for niche lines of business including Agriculture, Aviation, Credit & Surety, Cyber, Nuclear, and Political Violence. We are part of a global P&C data initiative focused on building scalable data products, reusable engineering patterns, reliable analytical applications, and data-driven decision support.
About You
You enjoy solving complex data problems, writing maintainable code, and turning raw data into useful analytical products. You are comfortable working across data pipelines, application logic, user-facing analytics, and production support, and you take pride in building solutions that are reliable, scalable, and easy for other developers to work with.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Hands-on experience in data engineering or analytics
- Proficiency in Python and PySpark for scalable data transformation pipelines
- Solid understanding of SQL, data warehousing, ELT and cloud data architecture
- Practical software engineering skills, including using AI tools
- Problem ‑ solving and communication skills
These are additional nice to have:
- Experience building user-facing applications with JavaScript or TypeScript
- Palantir Foundry experience
- (Re)Insurance or financial domain knowledge
- Experience with Generative AI and/or Natural Language Processing
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 2,400] and [EUR 4,100] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.
