We're currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Business Finance Partner - CMB UK. The base location for this role will be either London or Birmingham and with a hybrid working pattern.

You’ll have the opportunity to partner directly with HSBC UK’s Commercial Banking (CMB) Executive team, helping shape the growth of a significant business serving SME and large corporate customers while delivering sustainable returns. The role gives you broad exposure to product performance, pricing, balance-sheet and capital deployment, forecasting, stress testing, planning and investment cases, allowing you to turn complex financial data into clear commercial insight and influence important decisions. You’ll work across Finance, Risk, Operations and senior product leaders, building trusted relationships and driving outcomes in a collaborative, high-profile environment. With strong mobility and development opportunities across a Finance function of around 110 people, including potential progression towards Director-level roles, this is a chance to deepen your strategic finance expertise while making a visible contribution to one of HSBC Group’s key growth markets.

In this role you'll:

- Partner the UK CMB Executive and product heads (Payments, Trade, Lending) to grow the business competitively while delivering sustainable target returns
- Use financial and non-financial data/metrics to assess product returns, balance sheet performance, and capital deployment, including identifying trends
- Model and forecast future performance outcomes, playing a key role in forecasting exercises and the annual planning cycle
- Support performance, pricing, growth opportunity assessments and investment cases with robust analysis and clear financial storytelling
- Collaborate across Finance, Wholesale Risk, Infrastructure support and Fin Ops (India) to deliver the reporting and analysis needed for targeted outcomes (including links to portfolio returns, stress testing, and external financial/regulatory reporting)

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

- Demonstrable experience working within a UK bank or large financial services environment
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Demonstrable Finance business partnering experience
- Hands-on financial modelling experience is essential, with strong attention to detail, controls and commercial outputs
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving, using multiple data sources to challenge assumptions, assess trade-offs and drive decisions
- Strong commercial judgement, balancing risks, opportunities and business goals
- Ability to turn analysis into clear financial stories for varied audiences
- Proven ability to build senior stakeholder relationships, handle challenging conversations and deliver commitments
