The Doe Run Company is seeking a Counsel to provide legal support, guidance, and advice to the company in various areas of law. This position is based out of our Corporate Office in St. Louis, MO.

Based in St. Louis, Missouri, The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and one of the largest lead producers in the Western Hemisphere. Dedicated to environmentally responsible mineral and metal production, Doe Run has facilities in Missouri, Washington, and Arizona and operates one of the world's largest, single-site lead recycling facilities, located in Boss, MO.  Using innovative mining techniques, Doe Run skillfully taps one of the largest lead deposits in the world. This position offers a competitive base pay and is eligible for the Company variable pay (bonus) plan. Benefits start on the first day and include insurance, paid time off, and various customer discount programs.

Education & Experience:

- At least 3 years practicing as an attorney with litigation experience

- Knowledge in other areas of law is a plus and must be willing to learn

- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school

- Missouri Bar license

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite

- Knowledge of legal document management systems and document review programs

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- High aptitude for learning

Job Responsibilities:

- Legal Advice: Provide legal advice to the company in litigation, commercial and real estate transactions, regulatory compliance (environmental, safety, occupational health, etc.), corporate law, and other areas as directed.

- Litigation: Assist with litigation and work closely with outside counsel, review pleadings and motions, assist with complex discovery (including e-discovery, discovery requests and responses, and collection and production of documents), and respond to subpoenas.

- Contracts: Provide legal advice during negotiations of contractual arrangements. Draft and review contract language.

- Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment, Physical & Lifting Requirements:

- Work is generally performed in a standard office setting. Some travel within the State of Missouri required.

- Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, and to talk and hear; frequently required to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movement. Requires clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.

- May be required to lift up to 15 pounds.
