THE ROLE
The Support & Operations Agent is a hands-on operational role focused primarily on fleet cleaning, vehicle preparation, and depot organisation, with additional support in customer-facing rental operations when needed.
Most of your day will be spent behind the scenes: cleaning and preparing campervans, inspecting returned vehicles, and keeping the depot running smoothly. Depending on operational needs, you may also conduct check-ins and check-outs and assist customers directly. This role is ideal for someone practical, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced depot environment.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
- Fleet Cleaning: clean and maintain vehicle interiors and exteriors to meet Indie Campers' hygiene, quality, and presentation standards, ensuring consistent high-quality results.
- Vehicle Preparation: prepare campervans with required kits, bedding, essentials, and optional extras, ensuring every vehicle is ready for the next booking.
- Post-Return Inspection & Reporting: inspect returned vehicles for cleanliness, missing items, damages, or operational issues, and report them for follow-up.
- Stock, Consumables & Depot Organisation: manage cleaning supplies, kits, and consumables, report shortages or damages, and help keep the depot organised and ready for daily operations.
- Customer Service Support (when needed): conduct check-ins and check-outs, provide vehicle briefings, and support customers during their rental journey with professionalism and empathy.
- Basic Product & Technical Support: explain basic vehicle systems such as lighting, gas, and water, troubleshoot simple issues, and escalate when needed.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Must have:
- Experience in cleaning, housekeeping, hospitality, warehouse, or operations environments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene, quality, and presentation standards.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks (cleaning, lifting, moving equipment).
- Reliable, punctual, and solution-oriented, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable interacting with customers when needed, with good communication skills.
- Driving License, Category B.
- English proficiency.
Nice to have:
- Experience in customer service, rental, automotive, tourism, or mobility environments.
- Local language proficiency, where applicable.
PHYSICAL AND OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
This role requires physical activity and flexibility in a depot environment. You must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stretch, and perform repetitive motions for most of the shift, working inside vehicles (tight spaces, elevated surfaces) and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
You should be comfortable lifting and carrying items up to 15 kg, including kits, cleaning equipment, vacuum devices, hoses, and supplies, and using cleaning products and chemicals safely, following company safety guidelines and training.
The role requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and peak-season schedules, and to adapt to last-minute operational needs such as urgent turnarounds or high-volume customer periods. When supporting check-ins, you should also be comfortable interacting with customers in different emotional states while remaining calm, empathetic, and professional.
