Role -  Building Services Engineer

Location - Nationwide (flexible base location)

Our construction team is undergoing a significant transformation with a focus on insourcing and in-house development across our project portfolio. We have a mission to design, develop and deploy future ready, innovative solutions across our property, automation and maintenance teams.

We are seeking an experienced Building Services Engineer to support the management and improvement of our estate's mechanical and electrical infrastructure.

This technically focused role is responsible for assessing the condition, performance, and reliability of M&E assets, determining whether systems require full redesign and replacement, targeted refurbishment, or individual component replacement.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence the long-term reliability, resilience, and performance of a large and diverse estate portfolio.

What will you do?

- Undertake condition surveys and technical assessments of mechanical and electrical assets across the estate.
- Evaluate plant and infrastructure performance, reliability, compliance, and remaining operational life.
- Produce recommendations for full replacement, refurbishment, upgrade, or ongoing maintenance of building services systems.
- Identify single points of failure and develop solutions to improve estate resilience and business continuity.
- Analyse asset failures and maintenance data to identify recurring issues and recommend long-term improvements.
- Develop strategies to reduce the risk of power outages, heating failures, and other critical service disruptions.
- Produce technical reports, risk assessments, feasibility studies, and engineering recommendations.

Skills and Experience

- Experience assessing and managing mechanical and electrical building services assets.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, heating infrastructure, electrical distribution systems, standby power, and building controls.
- Experience conducting condition surveys and making lifecycle replacement recommendations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate technical findings into practical solutions.
- Strong report writing and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Desirable, not essential

- Membership of CIBSE, IET, IMechE, or a similar professional body.
- Experience within large or complex estates, public sector, healthcare, education, or commercial property environments.
- Knowledge of asset management and infrastructure resilience planning.
