What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is currently seeking an energy professional to join our Federal Civilian Agencies (FCA) Energy & Environment market team supporting the Department of Energy, Department of the Interior, Environmental Protection Agency, and National Science Foundation.

Incoming Senior Consultants will support client leadership through data-driven analysis of energy-sector trends, infrastructure challenges, market dynamics, and policy considerations. Candidates will utilize modern analytical platforms and quantitative methods to develop insights, answer complex questions, and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate should possess knowledge of electricity markets and energy systems, experience working with energy-related datasets, and comfort engaging directly with senior federal stakeholders.

- Conduct quantitative analyses related to energy systems, infrastructure, markets, and policy issues to support client decision-making and program objectives.
- Research emerging issues affecting the energy sector and evaluate their implications for programs, investments, and strategic initiatives.
- Develop analytical models and assessments that identify trends, evaluate outcomes, and inform actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex energy-sector challenges using quantitative, policy, and operational perspectives.
- Manage multiple concurrent analytical efforts by working with stakeholders to establish priorities, define methodologies, evaluate assumptions and constraints, and communicate timelines and findings.
- Leverage modern data platforms, analytical technologies, and automation techniques to efficiently collect, manage, analyze, and interpret large and complex datasets.
- Prepare technical memoranda, presentations, analytical products, and other client deliverables that communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Brief senior client leadership on analytical results, emerging trends, strategic considerations, and recommendations.

What You Will Need:

- Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.
- Must be a US Citizen due to nature of client engagements.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
- Three (3) to Five(5) years of relevant professional experience in energy-sector analysis, quantitative modeling, economics, policy analysis, program evaluation, or related fields.
- Knowledge of energy systems, infrastructure, markets, policy, or other topics relevant to the energy sector.
- Experience applying quantitative methods and analytical frameworks to solve complex business, policy, or operational challenges.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging modern analytical tools, programming languages, and data platforms to develop models, evaluate data, and generate actionable insights from large and complex datasets.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail, well organized, and able to self-prioritize multiple activities.
- Ability to communicate complex energy concepts and analytical findings to executive-level leadership in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- This hybrid position requires up to 3-5 days at the Client's office in Washington, DC.
- This hybrid position is open to candidates who will reside within 50 miles of Washington, DC.

What Would Be Nice to Have:

- Previous experience working at an RTO/ISO, utility, Public Utility Commission, federal agency, or comparable organization.
- Experience researching energy or data center development and/or permitting challenges and processes is preferred.
- Advanced degree in Economics, Public Policy, Public Administration, Business Administration, Data Science, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field.
- Experience applying programming languages and analytical tools to support quantitative modeling, data analysis, and decision-making.
- Experience working with modern cloud-based analytics, data warehouse, or data lakehouse platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or similar environments).
- Experience with GIS software for geospatial analysis.
- Demonstrated interest in learning and applying emerging analytical technologies, including AI-enabled tools and automation capabilities.
- Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
