Position Overview

We are looking for an exp erienced Data Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable enterprise data solutions within a financial services environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in data engineering, data modeling, data warehouse development, and building data products, with expertise in GCP, BigQuery, Apache Airflow, Informatica, Python, SQL, and Git. A strong focus on data governance, data quality, security, and privacy is essential.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

- Design, build, and support scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, data models, and data products.

- Develop cloud-based data solutions using GCP, BigQuery, Apache Airflow, Informatica, Python, and SQL.

- Design conceptual, logical, physical, and dimensional data models.

- Build reliable ETL/ELT processes and optimize data transformation workloads.

- Apply data governance, metadata, lineage, data quality, security, privacy, and access-control principles throughout solution design and development.

- Troubleshoot data and technical issues and recommend effective solutions.

- Produce clear technical documentation covering data models, data flows, designs, and operational processes.

- Collaborate with business, architecture, governance, security, and technology teams.

- Participate throughout the SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, release, and production support.

- Provide technical guidance and support engineering best practices.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

- University or College degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.

- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data management solution design, and development.

- Strong experience in data modeling, data warehouse development, ETL/ELT, and data product development.

- Strong financial services background, with retail banking knowledge preferred.

- Proven ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

- Strong hands-on experience with: GCP and BigQuery, Apache Airflow, Informatica, Python and SQL, Git, Data modeling and dimensional modeling, Data warehouse design and development, ETL/ELT and data pipeline engineering, Data product development, Data governance, metadata, lineage, and data quality, Data security, privacy, and access control, SDLC and release management

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
