Job Overview
Bring your hardware verification expertise to a fast-paced, innovative team developing the next generation of Qualcomm's industry-leading AI and DSP technologies. The Hexagon DSP AI team is seeking a Senior Hardware Verification Engineer to play a key role in the verification of complex processor architectures used in cutting-edge mobile, automotive, compute, and AI products.
This role is ideal for an experienced verification engineer with strong CPU, GPU, DSP, or AI accelerator verification experience, a passion for quality, and the ability to drive verification strategies for highly complex designs. You will work alongside architects, design engineers, and software teams to ensure robust, high-quality silicon while contributing to the evolution of verification methodologies and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the verification of complex processor, DSP, AI accelerator, and system-level hardware designs.
- Develop comprehensive verification plans, testbenches, and coverage strategies to ensure functional correctness and high-quality silicon.
- Drive verification execution using constrained-random, coverage-driven, assertion-based, and formal verification methodologies.
- Collaborate with design and architecture teams to review specifications and identify potential verification risks early in the development cycle.
- Debug complex RTL and system-level issues through simulation, emulation, and formal analysis.
- Develop reusable verification infrastructure, automation, and verification IP to improve team productivity and scalability.
- Analyze coverage and verification metrics, driving closure activities across multiple projects.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in verification methodologies, tools, and workflows.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in hardware design verification.
- Strong experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, and modern verification methodologies.
- Experience verifying complex CPU, GPU, DSP, AI accelerator, networking, or SoC designs.
- Solid understanding of computer architecture, microprocessor design, and digital design fundamentals.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as C, C++, Python, or similar.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes across multiple levels of the design stack.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with high-performance microprocessor or DSP architectures.
- Experience with Formal Verification methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of AI/ML acceleration architectures, vector processing, or custom compute engines.
- Experience with emulation, FPGA prototyping, or post-silicon validation.
- Familiarity with low-power and performance verification techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
