Investment Banking, Private Capital Advisory, Vice President/Director

Job Purpose:

BTIG is seeking a Vice President or Director to join its Private Capital Advisory practice within Investment Banking. This role is focused on originating, structuring, and executing middle market debt financings for middle market companies and their financial sponsors. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, entrepreneurial professional with a demonstrated track record in private credit, leveraged finance, or direct lending and can demonstrate a strong network among middle market lenders, private equity sponsors, family offices, and/or alternative lenders.

This is a client-facing, deal-execution role with significant responsibility and direct exposure to senior leadership from day one.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- In partnership with coverage officers, originate new financing mandates by cultivating and maintaining relationships with middle market companies, private equity sponsors, family offices, and other corporate clients

- Structure and execute a broad range of middle market debt transactions including senior secured loans, unitranche facilities, subordinated/mezzanine debt, PIK instruments, and other bespoke private credit solutions

- Lead transaction processes end-to-end, including pitch preparation, financing strategy, lender identification, term sheet negotiation, due diligence management, and closing

- Develop and maintain a targeted lender universe including BDCs, credit funds, insurance companies, family offices, and other alternative capital providers

- Prepare and review high-quality marketing materials, confidential information memoranda (CIMs), financial models, lender presentations, and term sheets

- Mentor and develop junior bankers, providing guidance on modeling, execution, and client interaction

- Collaborate with BTIG's broader Investment Banking platform including M&A, equity capital markets, and sector coverage teams to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients

Requirements & Qualifications:

- 5–10 years of relevant experience in investment banking (leveraged finance, debt advisory, or sponsor coverage), direct lending, private credit, or a related field

- Demonstrated experience originating client relationships and/or contributing meaningfully to deal origination efforts

- Deep knowledge of middle market debt capital structures , credit documentation, and financing market dynamics

- Strong financial modeling skills including LBO, cash flow, and credit analysis

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to clients and lenders

- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

- Series 79 and Series 63 licenses required (or willingness to obtain promptly)

- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree a plus

Compensation:

- BTIG offers a competitive compensation and benefits package (https://www.btig.com/careers/btig-benefits/). Salary range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, years of applicable experience, skills, qualifications, licensure and certifications, and other business and organization needs.

- The current estimated base salary range for this role is $230,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year. Please note that certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus or overtime.
