General Manager

Location: Gillette, Wyoming
Reports to: Northern DVP

Position Summary

The General Manager oversees daily operations, leads the team, and supports profitable growth for All Electric, LLC. This role is responsible for project performance, financial results, staffing, customer relationships, and a strong culture of safety and accountability.

Reporting to the Northern DVP, the General Manager works closely with project managers, field supervisors, and administrative staff to deliver quality electrical work on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Operations and Project Management

- Oversee daily operations across electrical projects and service work.

- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, equipment, and materials to meet project needs.

- Monitor project schedules, budgets, labor productivity, and workmanship.

- Work with project managers and field leaders to resolve issues and prevent delays.

- Establish processes that improve communication, efficiency, and accountability.

Financial Management

- Develop and manage operating budgets in coordination with the Northern DVP.

- Review job costs, financial reports, and forecasts to identify risks and improve profitability.

- Oversee estimating, pricing, purchasing, and change-order processes.

- Coordinate with accounting to support accurate billing, timely collections, and cash flow.

- Report business performance to the Northern DVP and implement corrective actions as needed.

Team Leadership

- Lead, coach, and support project management, field, and office teams.

- Partner with HR on hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee development.

- Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable for results.

- Plan staffing needs and support training and advancement opportunities.

- Promote a respectful workplace built on teamwork and communication.

Safety and Quality

- Reinforce company safety policies and ensure concerns are addressed promptly.

- Work with designated safety and technical personnel to support compliance with applicable requirements.

- Ensure work meets project specifications and company quality standards.

- Review incidents, customer concerns, and recurring problems to drive improvements.

Customer Relationships and Business Growth

- Build and maintain relationships with customers, general contractors, vendors, and business partners.

- Address customer concerns and support timely resolution.

- Evaluate new opportunities based on company capacity, capabilities, and profitability.

- Partner with the Northern DVP on business development and long-term planning.

Qualifications

- Experience managing operations in electrical contracting or a related construction business.

- Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing teams, projects, and budgets.

- Strong understanding of electrical construction workflows, estimating, scheduling, and job costing.

- Ability to interpret financial reports and make sound business decisions.

- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience with construction management and business software.

- A degree in construction management, business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

- Electrical trade experience or licensure is preferred.

- Clear communication and accountability across departments.

Work Environment

This position is based in Gillette, Wyoming, and involves office work and regular visits to active job sites. Travel between company locations and project sites may be required. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn when required.
