As a Team Lead, Project Controls - Sustaining Capital, you will provide leadership and expertise in the planning, execution, and control of sustaining capital, major project, and turnaround initiatives within a heavy industrial environment. Your goal will be to drive project performance through effective cost management, scheduling, forecasting, reporting, and project controls governance. Your success will be measured through the delivery of accurate and timely project controls information, proactive identification of risks and opportunities, continuous process improvements, and the achievement of project cost and schedule objectives.

Your Responsibilities:

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Controls professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Oversee project controls activities including cost control, scheduling, forecasting, progress measurement, and performance reporting for sustaining capital projects
- Establish and maintain project controls standards, processes, and best practices to support consistent project execution
- Develop, maintain, and analyze project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and performance metrics to support informed decision-making
- Monitor project performance and proactively identify risks, trends, variances, and opportunities to improve project outcomes
- Partner with Project Managers and key stakeholders to provide strategic project controls guidance and recommendations throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure project controls data, reporting, and systems are accurate, timely, and aligned with business and project requirements
- Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project controls effectiveness, efficiency, and reporting capabilities

Your Skills:

- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities
- Advanced knowledge of project controls principles, including cost management, scheduling, forecasting, earned value, and project reporting
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret complex project information
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement
- Proficiency with project controls systems, reporting tools, and SAP or similar enterprise platforms

Your Experience:

- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Business, Program Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 10 years of project controls experience supporting capital projects, major projects, turnarounds, or sustaining capital programs within heavy industrial environments
- Demonstrated success managing project cost, schedule, forecasting, and performance reporting for complex projects; experience with SAP and professional certifications such as PMP, AACEI, or PQS are considered assets

The expected annual salary range for this position is $95,207 - $148,524 . Placement within the range will be based on relevant experience, qualifications and skills.
