IT System Analyst - Supply Chain

Salary: $73,943.00- $115,654.00

SUMMARY

The Supply Chain System Analyst is responsible for assessing, defining, implementing, and supporting systems that enable effective supply chain operations. This role partners with supply chain leaders, business users, IT teams, and technology vendors to improve processes and system capabilities across warehouse management, transportation, inventory, replenishment, forecasting, procurement, and related enterprise functions. The Analyst translates business needs into practical technology solutions, coordinates system enhancements and projects, and helps ensure reliable, secure, and efficient day-to-day operations.

Position is on-site located in our Buffalo or our Schenectady, NY office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Evaluate and support supply chain applications and related integrations in accordance with company policies, procedures, and technology standards.

- Conduct system assessments, participate in end-to-end process mapping, analyze operational issues, and recommend process or technology improvements.

- Develop subject matter expertise in supply chain processes and systems, including warehouse, transportation, inventory, replenishment, forecasting, procurement, and related capabilities.

- Provide hands-on support and serve as an escalation resource for assigned supply chain applications and business functions.

- Demonstrated proficiency with enterprise AI tools and agentic workflows (e.g., ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude, Codex) to enhance research, analysis, documentation, software development, automation, and business/systems analysis.

- Ability to identify and apply practical AI use cases across supply chain operations, using AI-assisted analysis and workflow automation to improve processes and decision-making while ensuring accuracy, data security, responsible use, and appropriate human oversight.

- Gather, document, and translate business requirements into clear functional and non-functional specifications.

- Work with stakeholders to document current-state and future-state processes, identify gaps, and define measurable outcomes.

- Connect proposed system changes to business objectives, operational impacts, and short- and long-term improvement goals.

- Define key performance indicators and reporting requirements to measure process and system effectiveness.

- Develop and manage project plans for system implementations, enhancements, integrations, and process changes.

- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and onshore or offshore delivery teams to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.

- Support the application development lifecycle, including solution design, configuration, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and business acceptance.

- Manage assigned workstreams, communicate status and risks, and coordinate cross-functional impacts with affected teams.

- Administer and maintain assigned supply chain applications, configurations, security roles, interfaces, and supporting documentation.

- Plan and execute functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing for releases, enhancements, and new solutions.

- Validate system updates and production changes to ensure existing functionality, data integrity, and operational continuity are protected.

- Develop or coordinate user training, support materials, and communications that promote effective adoption of system changes.

- Analyze system usage, operational data, and performance trends to identify opportunities for improved service, efficiency, accuracy, and user experience.

- Monitor application performance, service-level commitments, recurring incidents, and enhancement backlogs; communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

- Support data quality, security, audit, and control requirements for supply chain applications and information.

- Serve as the primary IT contact for assigned supply chain functions, building trusted relationships with business leaders and end users.

- Coordinate with technology partners and vendors on issue resolution, releases, product capabilities, service levels, and continuous improvement opportunities.

- Help business teams understand the impacts of technology and process changes and support organizational change activities that enable successful adoption.

- Maintain knowledge of supply chain technology trends and emerging capabilities that may improve operational effectiveness.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business, supply chain, or a related field.

- 5–7 years of experience in systems analysis, business analysis, application support, or a related role, including experience supporting retail or supply chain operations.

- Demonstrated experience gathering requirements, documenting processes, coordinating testing, and delivering system enhancements or implementations.

- Proven project coordination or project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams.

- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Demonstrated success working collaboratively across business, IT, vendor, and distributed delivery teams.

- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-up, and problem-solving ability.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business, supply chain, or a related field.

- 5–7 years of experience in systems analysis, business analysis, application support, or a related role, including experience supporting retail or supply chain operations.

- Knowledge of grocery retail and end-to-end supply chain operations, including warehouse management, transportation, inventory, replenishment, forecasting, or procurement.

- Experience with enterprise supply chain applications, system integrations, reporting tools, data analysis, or SQL.

- Experience working with external software providers and globally distributed support or delivery teams.

- Experience with structured change management, Agile delivery, IT service management, or quality management practices.
