Position Summary:
This position reports to the Campus Services Manager and serves as the first and last point of contact for staff, visitors, and service providers, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience at client sites. The Building Ambassador provides a service that encompasses hospitality, security awareness, risk management, and operational support in support of daily site activities.
This role requires an articulate and self-motivated individual who enjoys working with people, demonstrates a strong commitment to customer service, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The position also requires the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, work independently, and consistently follow through on responsibilities.
Essential duties include, but not limited to:
- • Greet, sign in, and direct visitors to appropriate staff and designated meeting areas, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience.
• Monitor visitor access by following established procedures, including issuing, tracking, and collecting visitor badges in accordance with site security protocols.
• Respond to Slack messages, emails, and phone calls, ensuring all inquiries are accurately addressed or properly routed to the appropriate contact.
• Serve as a resource for general site-related inquiries, providing clear and timely information to staff, visitors, and service providers.
• Act as a primary point of contact for general questions, including those related to maintenance, health and safety, and other facility or service-related concerns within the building or campus, escalating issues as appropriate.
• Maintain awareness of daily site activity to ensure visitors and inquiries are handled efficiently and directed appropriately.
• Ensure the front desk or reception area remains organized and presentable to support a professional environment.
• Follow established procedures to ensure consistent service delivery and compliance with site guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding site activity, issues, or follow-up needs.
• Exercise sound judgment when addressing inquiries and determining appropriate escalation paths.
• Handle sensitive and challenging situations with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
• Support overall site operations by maintaining responsiveness and reliability in day-to-day responsibilities.
• Demonstrate a commitment to safety by adhering to established protocols, communicating potential safety concerns, and promoting safe work practices based on training and guidance.
• Perform other related tasks as needed in support of daily site operations.
• Comply with all applicable client policies and procedures, including but not limited to the personnel policies and other policies found in the Administrative Guide, http://adminguide.stanford.edu

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with staff, visitors, and service providers.
• Effective listening and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information and respond to inquiries.
• Demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, and tact in all interactions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining reliability and accountability.
• Demonstrated ability to follow through on tasks and ensure completion in a timely manner.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to compose and respond to basic business correspondence in a clear and professional manner.
• Ability to work effectively with team members, clients, and external contacts to support daily operations.
