The Import Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations for a company engaged in the manufacturing, importing, and exporting of brick products. This role ensures efficient material flow, safe handling practices, accurate inventory management, and effective supervision of warehouse staff. Respond to product information and availability inquiries, inventory control, purchase orders, receiving, AP Support, and complaint resolution. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong logistics, supply chain and warehousing experience, proficiency with ERP systems, and the ability to maintain a high-performing, safety-focused environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES:

Import Warehouse and Inventory

- Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, storing, staging, packaging and shipping brick products or other related duties as assigned by Import/Export Sr. Mgmt.

- Ensure accurate inventory handling, documentation, and cycle counts.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant warehouse environment.

- Work with Customer Service and Imports department to coordinate inbound and outbound freight for domestic and international shipments.

- Ability to coordinate and communicate clearly/directly with customer, sales team, customer service and other interested parties and departments.

- Collaborate with leadership to implement warehouse strategies that enhance operational efficiency, optimize capacity, reduce costs, and improve inventory management and customer service.

- Work with leadership to develop KPIs that can be reported out on to Sr. Mgmt and used as targets to measure inventory accuracy, on time shipping, shipping accuracy and other targets as decided on by Imports Team.

Team Leadership

- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate warehouse team members.

- Provide leadership that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Ensure staff adhere to safety policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.

Systems & Documentation

- Utilize ERP and logistics systems such as TMS, JDE, Sales Force and/or SAP for inventory, order processing, and shipment coordination.

- Use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Acrobat) for reporting, communication, and documentation.

- Maintain accurate records for inventory transactions, shipping paperwork, and compliance documentation.

- Familiarity or experience with developing and following quality processes, to include product gradings and adherence to company quality procedures.

Safety & Compliance

- Enforce OSHA and company-specific safety policies.

- Conduct regular safety inspections, equipment checks, and incident reporting.

- Ensure proper handling and storage practices for brick products and related materials.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, warehousing, logistics, or related operations.

- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or team lead directing warehouse or operations teams.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more repeatedly throughout the shift.

- Proficiency with ERP systems (TMS, JDE, SAP).

- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Acrobat).

- Ability to create reports, analyze data and report out KPIs to Senior Manager.

- Solid understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse workflow.

- Experience with leading warehouse optimization and continuous improvement projects within a team setting.

Preferred

- Experience in manufacturing or building materials industries.

- Knowledge of import/export operations, freight documentation, and compliance.
