What You'll Do:

As a Painter I, you will play a key role in preparing and finishing aircraft components to the highest quality standards by:

- Preparing parts for painting through cleaning, sanding, stripping, masking, and surface preparation

- Applying primers, paints, and specialty coatings using spray equipment and other approved methods

- Following technical specifications, work instructions, and engineering drawings

- Mixing paints and coating materials according to manufacturer requirements

- Inspecting finished surfaces to ensure exceptional appearance and quality

- Performing touch-ups and rework as needed

- Maintaining paint equipment, spray booths, and work areas

- Following all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

- Completing production and quality documentation accurately

- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and collaborating with teammates across departments

- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

- Ability to follow detailed instructions and specifications

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous experience in painting, industrial coatings, manufacturing, automotive refinishing, or aerospace environments

- Experience operating spray paint equipment

- Vocational training in painting, coatings, automotive refinishing, or a related field

- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or quality-focused production environments

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workday

- Ability to wear respirators, protective clothing, and required PPE

- Ability to work in paint booths and manufacturing environments with exposure to coatings, chemicals, and varying temperatures

Work Environment:

This position is based in a manufacturing and aerospace repair environment where quality, safety, and teamwork are essential. Overtime opportunities may be available to support customer delivery schedules.
