Position Summary

The Sr. Analyst, Enterprise IT VMO plays a strategic role in overseeing complex vendor relationships and high-value contracts to ensure service excellence, compliance, and cost optimization across McKesson’s operations. This position is responsible for developing and implementing vendor management strategies, leading cross-functional teams in vendor selection, and driving performance improvement initiatives. Operating within organizational and regulatory frameworks, the role ensures vendors deliver consistent value and meet business objectives.

This role contributes to enterprise sourcing strategies and risk management by analyzing vendor performance data, identifying trends, and recommending corrective actions. It involves managing escalations, resolving major performance issues, and reporting outcomes to senior leadership. Sr. Analyst, Enterprise IT VMO – Level 4 collaborates with cross-functional teams and business leaders to influence sourcing decisions and establish best practices for vendor governance.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee complex vendor relationships and high-value contracts to ensure alignment with business objectives.

- Develop and implement vendor management strategies, policies, and best practices across the organization.

- Lead cross-functional teams in vendor selection, evaluation, and performance improvement initiatives.

- Analyze vendor performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.

- Manage vendor risk by identifying, assessing, and implementing mitigation strategies.

- Facilitate escalations and resolve major vendor performance issues to minimize operational impact.

- Ensure vendor compliance with organizational policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.

- Prepare and present vendor management reports and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

- Stay informed about market trends, emerging vendors, and industry innovations to support sourcing strategies.

Preferred Experience / Capabilities

- Advanced expertise in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and vendor governance frameworks.

- Strong proficiency in Vendor Negotiation, including complex contract terms and SLA development.

- In-depth knowledge of Contract Management, Contract Administration, and compliance processes.

- Ability to apply Supplier Risk Intelligence to develop enterprise-level risk mitigation strategies.

- Expertise in Supplier Evaluation and performance analytics for strategic decision-making.

- Demonstrated capability in Vendor Relations, conflict resolution, and influencing senior stakeholders.

- Competence in developing vendor management strategies and implementing best practices.

- Strong leadership skills with ability to manage cross-functional teams and mentor staff.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills tailored to executive audiences.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

- 5+ years of experience in IT Vendor Management, Commercial Management, Contract Management, Procurement, or Service Delivery, with at least 1 year specifically focused on vendor governance or a multi-vendor ecosystem in a complex, regulated industry.

- Strong functional understanding of the IT vendor contract ecosystem, including the interdependencies between Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), commercial terms, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), with the ability to translate contractual terms into operational execution.

- Experience supporting or implementing VMO governance frameworks, risk registers, and reporting cycles.

- Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis, including invoice-to-contract reconciliation, consumption-based model review, and rate card benchmarking.
