Director of Supply Chain

The Director of Supply Chain & Procurement leads the sourcing, purchasing, contracting, vendor management, and inventory functions supporting the Company's clinics, laboratories, and corporate operations. The Director is accountable for lowering total cost of care, protecting continuity of supply for time-sensitive fertility treatment cycles, and bringing measurable financial discipline and auditability to every dollar of third-party spend. The Director partners closely with Finance, Accounting, Clinical Operations, Laboratory leadership, IT, and Legal, and serves as the organization's authority on procure-to-pay discipline.

Essential Responsibilities:

Procurement, Sourcing, and Contracting

- Develop and execute the enterprise sourcing strategy across direct clinical and laboratory spend and indirect corporate spend; run competitive bids, negotiate agreements, and consolidate the supplier base where doing so lowers cost without compromising continuity of supply or clinical outcomes. Manage GPO relationships and evaluate GPO versus direct-contract economics by category.

- Deliver measurable, Finance-validated savings; build annual savings targets into the budget and forecast cycle and report performance against them.

- Standardize item masters and product formularies across sites, converting products only where clinically and scientifically validated in partnership with Laboratory and Clinical leadership.

- Establish procurement policy, standard operating procedures, delegation-of-authority thresholds, and requisitioner training across the network.

- Build, mentor, and lead the procurement team; set priorities, develop talent, and serve as the escalation point for supply issues affecting patient care.

Vendor Management and Supplier Performance

- Own the end-to-end vendor lifecycle: qualification and onboarding, documentation, contracting, performance management, renewal, and offboarding.

- Maintain a single source of truth for vendor master data

- Build vendor scorecards and lead periodic business reviews measuring contract price adherence, fill rate, lead time, backorder frequency, product quality, and service failures.

- Partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure vendor arrangements satisfy regulatory, accreditation (CAP, CLIA, FDA, state), HIPAA, and healthcare fraud-and-abuse requirements.

Inventory, Continuity of Supply, and Operations

- Establish inventory policy across clinics and laboratories, including par levels, reorder points, cycle counting, lot and expiration tracking, and controlled handling of temperature-sensitive, cryogenic, and regulated materials.

- Protect continuity of supply for time-sensitive treatment cycles; develop dual-source and contingency plans for single-source critical items such as culture media, cryopreservation supplies, disposables, and gases.

- Administer the (Procurement ordering platform for clinic and laboratory users, including catalog and item master management, punch-out and EDI supplier connections, par levels, requisition and approval hierarchies, receiving workflows, user training, and reporting.

- Define matching tolerances, exception-handling rules, and escalation paths in partnership with Accounts Payable; reduce manual matching, shorten invoice cycle time, and lower duplicate, off-contract, and price-variance payments.

- Ability to travel within North America to the clinics within the Inception network, as well as required meetings and conferences.

- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

- Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Finance, Operations, or a related field required; MBA or professional certification (CPSM, CSCP, CPM, CPSD) preferred.

- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive supply chain and procurement experience, including at least three (3) years of leadership or management experience in a multi-site healthcare, ambulatory surgery, or physician practice management environment. M&A and de novo experience preferred.

- Demonstrated history of delivering quantifiable, Finance-validated savings through competitive sourcing, contract negotiation, and product standardization.

- Hands-on experience administering a procurement management system as a healthcare ordering and inventory platform; experience in the fertility, IVF laboratory, or reproductive medicine space strongly preferred.

- Required capability: has previously implemented, or is fully capable of implementing, a vendor management or procure-to-pay system and integrating it with an accounting/ERP platform to enable an automated three-way match.
