# Fabricator/Welder – Levels 1, 2 & 3

Denver, CO | $38–$50/hr + Weekly Pay + Benefits

Our Fabricator/Welders play a critical role in building and assembling piping systems that support major commercial and industrial projects. We’re looking for skilled welders with experience working with pipe, fabrication drawings, and welding specifications. Depending on experience and skill level, the role may include pipe welding, fabrication, fit-up, and, at the higher level, pipe fitting and working with more complex piping assemblies.

What You’ll Do

- Weld and fabricate pipe spools and piping assemblies according to drawings, specifications, and WPS requirements.
- Perform pipe welding using qualified processes such as GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
- Fit, tack, align, and assemble piping components including pipe, flanges, elbows, tees, reducers, valves, and other fittings.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, spool sheets, isometrics, weld maps, and weld symbols.
- Use grinders, saws, cutting equipment, welding machines, positioners, and standard shop tools.
- Verify material, joint preparation, dimensions, alignment, and weld quality.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while following RK's quality and safety standards.

Which Level Are You?

Fabricator/Welder 1

- Current 1G or 3G welding certification/company qualification.
- Basic pipe welding and fabrication experience.
- Able to clean, grind, bevel, and cut materials.
- Can fit and tack straightforward assemblies with supervision.
- Understands basic drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.

Fabricator/Welder 2

- Current 6G welding certification/company qualification.
- Able to weld pipe in multiple positions with limited supervision.
- Produces welds that meet visual and NDE requirements.
- Can read fabrication drawings, spool sheets, isometrics, and weld maps.
- Can verify joint preparation, alignment, dimensions, and material identification.
- Able to select the appropriate WPS, filler material, and welding equipment.
- Can help support and train Level 1 Fabricator/Welders.

Fabricator/Welder 3

- Current 6G certification/qualification with demonstrated pipe-fitting proficiency.
- Independently lays out, fits, tacks, welds, and assembles complex piping.
- Strong ability to interpret drawings, isometrics, specifications, weld symbols, and BOMs.
- Can calculate dimensions, offsets, takeouts, angles, and pipe lengths.
- Experienced fitting pipe, flanges, elbows, tees, reducers, valves, and other components.
- Able to check orientation, elevation, slope, alignment, and dimensional accuracy.
- Can troubleshoot complex fit-up issues and help train lower-level Fabricator/Welders.
- May help coordinate daily shop work.

What You Bring

- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Industrial pipe fabrication or welding experience.
- Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and/or alloy piping.
- Ability to read and follow fabrication drawings and welding documentation.
- Knowledge of welding processes, WPS requirements, and quality expectations.
- Strong attention to fit-up, weld quality, and dimensional accuracy.
- Commitment to working safely in a demanding shop environment.
