Onsite IT Manager, Hagerstown

What you will do

As Volvo aims to go beyond Industry 4.0 and integrate AI systems in the production line to improve our operational efficiency, your primary role will be to work directly with various business teams in the North American factories and our global partners to support onsite IT services. As the Onsite IT Manager, you are responsible for managing IT infrastructure and end user equipment that supports Powertrain manufacturing operations in our Hagerstown facility and remanufacturing facilities in Middletown, PA, and Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities include:

- Lead and manage the OnSite IT team.

- Prioritize team activities.

- Lead Continuous Improvement efforts.

- Prepare team members for growth.

- Understand and connect Volvo’s strategies to day-to-day performance.

- Establish the OnSite IT Team as a trusted partner in developing all site users IT skills.

- Along with our global teams and partners:

- Manage the site IT Infrastructure (Data centers, servers, network, etc.) with a focus on reliability and performance.

- Manage site End User Services and IT equipment along with our partners.

- Manage IT disturbances with a focus on a speedy return to normal operations. Participate in root cause investigations and apply lessons learned.

- Capture local IT Infrastructure demand.

- Participate as member of

- The wider Hagerstown D&IT Team.

- The OnSite NA Regional Management Team.

- Evaluate technology risks, ensure that mitigation plans are in place, and escalate when necessary.

- Manage the site IT infrastructure costs along with our Finance team.

Important:

- This is an onsite position and is not eligible for fully remote work. The successful candidate should be comfortable providing leadership and coordination during critical IT events and ensuring appropriate support coverage when business operations require it.

- Given the 24x7 nature of our manufacturing operations, occasional work outside of standard business hours may be required. This may include evenings, weekends, and holidays to support critical incidents, planned maintenance, infrastructure changes, project implementations, or other business-critical activities.

- 5-10 years of experience in IT infrastructure and end user services, preferably for a global manufacturer.

- Experience with support and operations for IT infrastructure.

- Experience managing people preferred. Proven success in developing and coaching people required.

- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field is preferred or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

For this position, the base pay is set at $128,300.00 - $158,400.00 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
