Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Referral Specialist, you will serve as a critical liaison in our Cardiology Services department, ensuring that patients receive timely and coordinated care. You will act as the primary point of contact for patients and referring providers, playing a key role in managing complex scheduling, verifying essential insurance information, and facilitating the authorization process.

Every day you will manage a high volume of incoming calls and patient registrations, meticulously verifying demographics and insurance coverage to ensure billing accuracy.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a high school diploma or GED, with at least one year of administrative experience in a medical setting strongly preferred.

- Resolves, pre-certification, registration and case-related concerns prior to a patients appointment. This includes interacting with patients, insurance carriers and various internal departments

- Completes the referral process for a patient's ancillary, consultation, radiology or lab visit. The process includes checking insurance coverage, sending approval and receiving confirmation, scheduling appointments, andnotifying patients of progress.

Job Requirements

Required

- High School Graduate

- Minimum of two (2) years experience in Medical Office or other healthcare environment

- Basic Computer skills, Excel, Outlook, windows based programs
