Student Activity Coordinator

Location: Vancouver, BC
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:00–5:30 PM; Friday, 12:30–5:00 PM
Student Population: Adult international students, ages 16+

Reports to : Senior Student Services Coordinator

Hourly : Up to 15 hours a week at $20 per hour

Position Overview

Bayswater is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and outgoing Student Activity Coordinator to plan, organize, and lead activities and excursions for our international students.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working with groups of students, knowledgeable about Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, and confident using public transit to lead groups safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and organize a regular schedule of student activities and excursions.

- Lead and participate in activities, ensuring students have an engaging and positive experience.

- Accompany students on local excursions throughout Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.

- Take responsibility for groups of students while travelling by public transit and attending off-site activities.

- Research and recommend new activities, events, attractions, and experiences suitable for international students.

- Coordinate activity logistics, including meeting points, transportation, schedules, tickets, and registrations.

- Communicate activity details clearly to students and encourage participation.

- Maintain accurate attendance and activity records.

- Ensure activities are conducted in a safe, professional, and inclusive manner.

- Be prepared to adapt activities and schedules when circumstances change.

- Build a welcoming social environment that encourages students to meet and interact with one another.

Requirements

- Availability is required Monday–Thursday from 3:00–5:30 PM and Friday from 12:30–5:00 PM.

- Strong knowledge of Vancouver and the Lower Mainland , including attractions, neighbourhoods, public transportation, and local events.

- Comfortable and confident leading large groups of students on public transit .

- Experience organizing, coordinating, or leading group activities, tours, events, or student programs is an asset.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

- Energetic, outgoing, and approachable personality.

- Comfortable working with an international and culturally diverse student population.

- Able to take initiative and work independently.

- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to student safety and wellbeing.

- Previous experience working with international students is an asset.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with people, loves Vancouver, and is excited to show international students what the city and Lower Mainland have to offer . They should be confident taking charge of a group, comfortable navigating public transit, and able to create fun, engaging activities that students will want to participate in.
