We're looking for an experienced Concrete Finisher who takes pride in producing quality work and enjoys being part of a team that builds infrastructure that lasts. In this role, you'll apply your concrete finishing expertise while supporting the installation of underground utilities, street lighting, and civil infrastructure projects throughout the Edmonton area.

What You'll Do

As a Concrete Finisher / Utility Installer , you will perform concrete finishing activities that support the installation of street lighting, underground utilities, and related infrastructure projects throughout the Edmonton region.

Working alongside experienced Foremen, Lead Hands, and construction crews, you'll play a key role in ensuring concrete work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.

Responsibilities Include:

- Performing concrete finishing activities for infrastructure and utility construction projects

- Assisting with concrete placement, finishing, curing, and restoration work

- Supporting the installation of street lighting and utility infrastructure foundations

- Assisting with formwork setup and preparation

- Ensuring finished concrete meets project specifications and quality standards

- Supporting utility installation activities as required

- Loading, unloading, and moving construction materials

- Maintaining clean, organized, and safe worksites

- Participating in Task Hazard Assessments (THAs) and Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs)

- Identifying hazards and contributing to safe work practices

- Working collaboratively with crews to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently

What You Bring

We're looking for candidates with experience in concrete finishing, concrete placement, concrete restoration, formwork, civil construction, utility construction, and municipal infrastructure projects.

Required Qualifications

- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation

- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in concrete finishing

- Experience placing, finishing, and repairing concrete

- Ability to produce quality concrete work while maintaining productivity

- Physically fit and capable of performing demanding outdoor construction work

- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

- Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew

- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Assets That Will Help You Stand Out

While not required, we'd love to hear from candidates who have:

- Concrete finishing experience on municipal or infrastructure projects

- Experience forming, placing, and finishing concrete foundations

- Street lighting foundation experience

- Sidewalk, curb, pad, or utility concrete restoration experience

- Underground utility construction experience

- Civil construction experience

- Telecommunications construction experience

- CSTS 2020 Certification

- Standard First Aid & CPR Certification

- WHMIS Certification

- Experience operating skid steers

- Experience operating construction equipment
