JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provides regional oversight, coaching, and performance management for Anesthesia Operations Managers across assigned facility sites; sets clear expectations and standardizes operational execution.
- Serves as the escalation point above the Anesthesia Operations Manager for issues that require regional authority, cross-site coordination, or executive involvement.
- Owns regional staffing and coverage strategy, including oversight of call/after-hours coverage models, premium shift and locum utilization, and annual minimum/shift-hour compliance across sites.
- Partners with Medical Directors/Chiefs and CRNA/CAA leadership at the regional level to align anesthesia coverage models with clinical needs and site-specific requirements.
- Leads growth strategy discussions with hospital and health system leadership regarding procedural service expansion, new sites, and anesthesia resource planning; ensures Anesthesia Operations Managers are equipped to execute against growth plans.
- Develops and monitors regional performance metrics and dashboards; reports trends, risks, and opportunities to Anesthesia Service Line leadership.
- Partners with the centralized Business Operations teams responsible for credentialing, payroll, and onboarding to support consistent execution across sites; identifies and escalates systemic gaps.
- Partners with centralized HR and Compliance teams to support consistent execution of regulatory and HR documentation requirements (e.g., TB documentation, policy communication) at the site level; escalates and helps resolve gaps.
- Represents the Anesthesia Service Line in regional perioperative governance and health system leadership meetings; escalates and resolves issues raised by OR/hospital administration.
- Leads recruitment, hiring, and succession planning for the Anesthesia Operations Manager role across the region; builds bench strength for future growth.
- Owns regional scheduling strategy in partnership with on-site Anesthesia Operations Managers and the centralized Business Operations team responsible for scheduling systems and technology (e.g., QGenda); ensures scheduling standards and policies are applied consistently across sites.
- Partners with regional finance/operations leadership on staffing budget, premium labor spend, and cost management across the portfolio of sites.
- Any other special projects or duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Proven ability to lead and develop a team of site-level operational leaders across multiple locations, with sound judgment under pressure.
- Strong executive presence and ability to build trusted relationships with hospital/health system C-suite, Medical Directors/Chiefs, and CRNA/CAA leadership.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate growth initiatives into actionable regional staffing and resource plans.
- Financial acumen, including experience managing staffing budgets, premium labor costs, and regional P&L exposure.
- Ability to standardize processes and drive consistency across sites while remaining responsive to local/site-specific needs.
- Strong working knowledge of credentialing, payroll support processes, provider onboarding, and healthcare compliance requirements.
- Comfortable working within performance metrics, reporting tools, and scheduling/staffing systems at a multi-site or regional level.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels, from front-line providers to health system executives.
- Change management and project management skills to lead standardization and growth initiatives across a region.
- Any other special projects or duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field, required.
- Master's Degree (MHA, MBA, or related), preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

- 7+ years of healthcare operations, practice management, or facility administration experience.
- 3+ years in a leadership role overseeing other operational leaders or managing multiple sites.
- Anesthesia, surgical services, or perioperative experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with hospital/health system leadership on growth strategy and resource planning preferred.
- Prior experience with Anesthesia Operations Manager or comparable site-level role strongly preferred; this role is a natural succession path from that position.

Pay Range:
127,191.00 - 188,277.00 USD annually
This range represents the anticipated base salary for this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
