About this role

Director of Corporate Accounting
Hulsing Enterprises
Orlando, Florida
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Exempt | Senior Leader | Finance & Accounting

Remote to start, transitioning to hybrid. Must be based in Orlando. Travel as enterprise priorities require.

The Opportunity

Hulsing Enterprises is a privately held, multi-entity company spanning hotels and country clubs, grocery retail, and medical equipment and services across multiple states. We are in an active growth chapter — expanding operations, professionalizing shared services, and moving corporate reporting onto NetSuite.

This is the seat that makes that transition real. As Director of Corporate Accounting, you are the senior financial leader for corporate reporting and shared-service accounting across the enterprise. You report to the CFO. You own the integrity of the numbers, the cadence of close and reporting, the quality of the team, and the systems that let ownership make decisions with confidence.

This is not a sit-back-and-review role. It is a player-coach assignment: present to ownership, roll up your sleeves on the close, stand up NetSuite reporting the right way, and build the people and processes that will scale with the business.

Why This Role Is Different

- You join during a live ERP chapter. NetSuite is the destination for corporate reporting — you will help design how the enterprise closes, consolidates, and tells its financial story on the new platform.

- The portfolio is unusually interesting. Hotels, clubs, grocery, and medical services do not look the same on a P&L. You will bring consistent accounting standards to businesses that operate very differently.

- Ownership is close. You will brief the CFO and ownership with clear commentary, not a data dump. Your judgment will be visible.

- The team is yours to raise. Recruit, coach, and develop finance talent at corporate and property levels so the function keeps pace with growth.

- Orlando is the base. Start remote. Transition to hybrid as the corporate rhythm settles.

What You Will Own

Financial reporting and analysis

- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for the enterprise and each operating unit — consolidated and entity-level statements, P&L roll-ups, balance sheets, and performance dashboards.

- Analyze results across business units. Surface material variances, trends, risks, and opportunities. Deliver clear recommendations to the CFO in a regular one-on-one cadence.

- Keep accounting methods, cost practices, and P&L standards consistent across hotels, clubs, grocery, and medical operations.

- Build and maintain models, dashboards, and reporting tools that give ownership real-time visibility into enterprise and unit health.

- Turn around ad hoc analysis for the CFO and operating leaders accurately and on time.

Accounting operations, NetSuite, and compliance

- Oversee day-to-day transaction processing: general ledger, reconciliations, AP, and AR. Prioritize automation in cash matching, reconciliations, journal entries, and process simplification.

- Lead the corporate reporting transition to NetSuite — chart structure, close workflow, consolidation logic, and reporting packages that leadership will actually use.

- Control fixed asset inventory and depreciation schedules.

- Serve as primary contact for internal and external audits. Prepare, explain, and close findings promptly.

- Ensure compliance with applicable financial laws and reporting requirements across business types and operating states. Keep enterprise financial policies current as regulation, the business, and ownership priorities change.

Team leadership

- Lead, coach, and develop the Finance and Accounting team. Set expectations, give ongoing feedback, run formal reviews, and recognize strong work.

- Recruit and onboard talent at property and corporate levels. Build capability for the enterprise we are becoming, not only the one we are today.

- Direct work so deadlines are met and quality holds. Find skill gaps and close them with training.

- Set a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous learning. Stay current on GAAP, tax, and industry practice — and teach it.

What You Bring

Experience

- 8-12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with a substantial stretch in senior financial leadership.

- Demonstrated multi-entity, multi-state financial operations.

- Hospitality (hotels, country clubs) and/or retail/grocery experience is a significant advantage.

- A record of building and leading accounting teams.

- Comfort presenting contextualized results to ownership or board-level stakeholders.

- Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP, plus the judgment to lead a reporting migration — not only use the system.

Skills

- Expert financial reporting, GAAP, and variance analysis.

- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax across multiple business types.

- Advanced Excel and strong command of accounting systems (NetSuite or similar).

- Writing and speaking that can move from ownership briefing to property-level conversation without losing the plot.

- The ability to run multiple priorities and closes across a complex, multi-entity organization.

How you work

- Strategic enough to see the enterprise. Operational enough to produce the package yourself when the close demands it.

- A genuine player-coach. Trusted with confidential information. High integrity on every number.

- Proactive — you bring solutions, not only analysis. Energized by variety. Accountable for outcomes.

Education and Credentials

- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field required. Masters (Accounting, Finance, or MBA) preferred.

- CPA strongly preferred. Equivalent senior leadership experience and demonstrated competency across the core of this role will be considered.

- Fluency in written and spoken English. Exceptional writing for reporting, ownership materials, policy, and external correspondence.

- Active licensure CPE must be maintained throughout employment.

Working Conditions

Primary setting is corporate office work, with hybrid on-site expectation in Orlando after the remote start period. Ability to sit for extended computer work; occasional walking of office and property environments; lift up to 25 lbs as needed. Extended hours are expected during month-end and year-end close, audits, budget season, and time-sensitive ownership requests. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Hulsing Enterprises is an equal opportunity employer. Employment is at-will. This posting describes the essential work of the role. Related duties may be assigned as the enterprise grows.
