General Maintenance Technician

Oregano’s Pizza Bistro is seeking a skilled, hands-on General Maintenance Technician to keep our restaurant facilities safe, functional, and looking great. In this role, you will perform preventive maintenance, general upkeep, light repairs, and emergency troubleshooting across interior spaces, exterior grounds, and operational equipment across assigned local store locations.

Key Responsibilities

- General Maintenance & Repairs: Perform drywall repairs, surface finishing, tile replacements, window repairs, basic carpentry, and general handyman upkeep.
- Deliveries & Assemblies: Support delivery, placement, and installation of restaurant furniture and operational equipment.
- System & Equipment Upkeep: Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and hardware troubleshooting to minimize operational downtime.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe environment while adhering strictly to safety regulations and PPE guidelines.
- Multi-Site Support: Travel between assigned restaurant locations to load, transport, and unload tools, equipment, and supplies.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Technical Skills: Experience in basic carpentry, general maintenance, electrical, and plumbing upkeep.
- Tools & Equipment: Proficient with power tools, hand tools, voltage meters, and standard hardware.
- Transportation & Driving: Valid driver's license, clean driving record, valid auto insurance, and a reliable work truck, SUV, or van to transport tools and supplies between store locations.
- Background Check: Ability to successfully pass a background check.
- Computer Literacy: Basic proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to work independently or as a team.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

- Active Environment: Fast-paced physical work split across active kitchen areas, dining rooms, outdoor spaces, and multi-site driving. Exposure to high-heat equipment, walk-in freezers, and noisy kitchen operations.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand, bend, stoop, crouch, reach into overhead or tight areas, and climb ladders/stairs for overhead and roof work.
- Lifting: Regularly lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50 lbs unassisted (and up to 100 lbs with assistance).
- Schedule: Flexible hours based on operational needs, which may include weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
