Purchasing Manager / Buyer Planner

Location: Reynoldsburg, OH (100% Onsite Corporate Office)

Position Type: Full-Time / Direct Placement

Salary Range: $75,000 – $90,000 / year (Flexibility up to $95,000 based on experience)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Department: Supply Chain / Procurement (Reports directly to the Controller)

Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive, self-motivated, and analytical Purchasing Manager / Buyer Planner to join our corporate procurement team in Reynoldsburg, OH. Operating as a key individual contributor within a small, focused team of buyers, you will oversee end-to-end materials procurement and inventory planning supporting 5 manufacturing plants.

In this role, you will manage both domestic and international vendor relationships, ensure optimal inventory levels using integrated ERP software, and coordinate material demand across multiple facilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Materials & Inventory Planning: Manage inventory levels across multiple facilities using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to establish order schedules, minimize excess stock, and maximize warehouse efficiency.
- Procurement & Purchasing: Process, issue, and adjust purchase order requests for raw materials, production components, intercompany transfers, and external suppliers.
- Global & Domestic Supply Chain: Oversee supply timelines with both domestic and international vendors, expediting critical shipments when necessary to prevent production disruptions.
- Production & Warehouse Coordination: Oversee the receipt of goods, review production entry data, manage bin transfers, and research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Physical Inventory Audits: Serve as the primary building coordinator for annual physical inventory counts and stock reconciliation.
- Cross-Plant Operations: Support procurement strategy and material availability for 5 regional manufacturing plants from the corporate headquarters.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in purchasing, material planning, or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
- Supply Chain Scope: Proven experience managing both domestic and international suppliers and shipments.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience utilizing integrated ERP software systems and intermediate-to-advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Core Competencies: Proactive self-starter with excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills; strong ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 5% as needed.
- Screening: Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Preferred:

- Direct experience in tire and wheel manufacturing or automotive component supply chain environments.
- Hands-on experience with Sage ERP .
- Familiarity or experience with Power BI for data reporting and analytics.
- Proven background in demand forecasting and inventory modeling.

- Competitive Salary: $75,000 – $90,000/yr (commensurate with experience, stretch to $95,000 available for exceptional candidates).
